Have freed myself from the evil clutches of the corporate world. Used to be a boring old PR Consultant who wished that everyday is an MC day.

Now, it's the end of limitations and the beginning of infinite possibilities.

Hopefully after my travels,I'd land myself a less rigid job that encourages creativity and spontaneity. Someday, I'd love to own a jazz bar by the beach or do social work in less developed countries.

I love travelling, reading and meeting people. Good music turns me on as well.

Right now, I'm preparing a backpacking trip to Bangkok and Myanmar.

Do you want a place in my backpack?

Letters from Myanmar Dear all, I’m sure many of you are curious about my well-being in Myanmar. All you’ve seen are captioned pictures and probably would like to know my thoughts about the place, the people and their culture. I arrived in Myanmar on 13 April,at the very start of the Thingyan festival(Myanmar New Year). It is a 5 day event where the whole conservative country let themselves loose for once and get into this whole party mood. No one, let me repeat, no one, escapes from the water throwing event. Buckets, water guns, water hoses, and free flow of water are all readily available. Some even add ice into their ammunition and make the entire ordeal torturous to endure. For the next few days, we were soaked over and over again. We had one full ... read more

Two days ago, my journey began with a bus from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth and then onto a train right up to Krung Thep (Bangkok!)-the city of Angels. The train ride, even though extremely long, was something worthwhile to write about. As much as I slept through the journey most of the time, I also had a good time interacting with a kid whose dad's a Malaysian while his mum's a Thai, and also with Suk, the Thai Indian lady sitting opposite me. Indeed as a virgin backpacker, I had a lot of questions about Thailand or even trivial matters like does this train really goes to Bangkok? I had some bad experiences before, like the last time when I was on a trip to Singapore. I bought a direct ticket to Singapore but the bus ... read more

Departure date looms in front of me. Next week will mark the start of another new beginning. It is as exciting as how travelling should be and as scary as how it will open up a stream of unpredictable circumstances. Jarred, the Aussie dude that I was meant to hook up in Bangkok so that we can travel to Myanmar together couldn't make it due to family emergency and had to take the next flight out. Which is a shame really, considering it'd be nice to have a travel buddy whom you already half knew through correspondence over the internet. Then again, I did entertain the thought that he might have chickened out from wanting to travel with me. But I'll give the guy benefit of the doubt...I just pray the family emergency he's having isn't ... read more

Chinese practice a range of religious and cultural festivals that go back a long way. Over the years, traditions associated with such festivals are handed down from generation to generation within practicising communities, with very little changes introduced. One of such major events that marks the Chinese Calendar is Cheng Beng-the day to honour the departed ancestors and immediate family members. Today, I had to make a special effort to visit my mother, who passed away 5 years ago, in Nilai Memorial Park. Her ashes were put in an urn in an air-conditioned columbrium. I don't exactly enjoy practising this tradition as it is not entirely spritual and certainly a very environmentally hazardous tradition indeed. I missed mum a lot but I believe if I want to visit her, I should be able to do ... read more

My head is reeling with excitment. I finally took the guts to hand in my resignation letter and prayed real hard after that, hoping that boss wouldn't make a huge fuss out of it. Well, boss being boss, was a big bully as usual. He knew he couldn't make me stay so he decided to make the next two weeks after the event of resignation difficult for me. So, for the past two weeks, I underwent nothing but emotional and phyiscal pain, mental drain and to the point of break down. He even threatened not to pay me if I don't finish everything that's needed to be done before my time is up. I was extremely vexed because I need the cheque to pay for my journey! Finally, today marks my final day at work. I ... read more

I'm starting anew here and yet I know not how to begin with. Plenty has happened, and a series of events happened one after another. All leading to one big adventure-the one that I've always been looking for. In short, Jowynne sponsored me to attend Incovar. Met several people who inspired me to further pursue Buddhism. With that interest, I attended several Buddhist talks over the weekend. Met Jeff Oliver. He became my pillar of inspiration. Admiration turned into friendship. Jeff convinced me that life is an adventure, there are many things you can do if you have the will to do it. Then, I got a job. Started working as a writer and then later, accepted the offer to take up the position of a PR Consultant. Corporate world didn't quite suit me. I was ... read more
