Another good friend showed up early in the morning, and the three of us decided to go to the “real Manila”. We picked the Divisoria area with the thought of buying goodies for my friends back in Indonesia. From my friend’s house we took a trycycle ride for 7 pesos each, then rode an FX going to Lawton ( it’s a Tamaraw/Kijang with a signboard “Lawton” ) which costs 40 pesos. From Lawton, we rode another jeep to divisoria, which costs another 7 pesos. Divisoria is definitely a bargain place for goodies such as clothes, bags, accessories and stuff. However, this was not what i had in mind. I need something “Filipino” (jeepneys, fans, etc) and it’s quite hard to find here. So we just walked around and enjoyed the whole experience. Sorry, I had no ... read more

Checked in for my Clark flight, washed my face, brushed my teeth at the airport’s comfort room, and I was ready to go. My flight was once again on time at 7:40 AM( Bravo airasia ! ) . My destination is Clark ( or it is also known as Diasdado Macapagal International Airport). The flight was around 3 hours and 30 minutes. The DMIA airport is NOT in Manila. Travel time from DMIA to Manila could reached up to 2-3 hours ( depends on traffic). What i like about DMIA is that it is surrounded by beautiful hills and surroundings. I even catched a glimpse of a mountain ( I am not sure if it’s Pinatubo) that looks really close to DMIA. Upon arrival, being a curious person as I am, I opted to drop by ... read more

It’s been years since I left Manila, Philippines. I remembered leaving the country with a strong desire to come back one day. Months ago while browsing for some online cheap tickets, i came across Airasia’s promo going to the Philippines via Clark. I did not think twice. I grabbed the opportunity and now i have yet another exciting travel story to tell. For more information and cheap tickets, please do log on to Airasia website. I got my return ticket for only Rp 800,000,- ( Jakarta-KL, KL- Clark, Clark-KL, KL-Jakarta). My flight was scheduled for 9:00 P.M, which means i have to be at the Soekarno Hatta International airport at around 7 P.M. Since I was coming from the office which is located close to the Gambir train station, I simply took the DAMRI bus( here’s ... read more

The plan was only to see the lovely Sakura, and what a great surprise it was when we found out that sakura garden is not the only place of attraction within the area. Sakura garden is actually a part of Kebon Raya Cibodas, a HUGE botanical garden located at Cibodas, Bogor. It is a good place to simply unwind and give your lungs a chance to breathe some fresh air Here’s more information about KRC (information is in Bahasa Indonesia) : Kebon Raya Cibodas Website How to get there? Getting there commuting was an adventure itself. Here’s how I did (and survived ) it ! 1. Since I am living in Jakarta, a good starting point will be BLOK M bus terminal. Find for a KOPAJA bus number 66 going to Manggarai. Pay Rp. 2000,- and ... read more
