Rupees! "Since I had a minimal number of rupees there was not a lot of exploring to be done" Wendy, it sounds like you have had some forbidden fun contracting a minimal case of Rupees and all. Don't worry, just see your doctor when you get home and that should clear it right up?
Hi Wendy! I think that my spam software was bouncing your journal entries. As a result, I missed most of India. I just got caught up and I have to say - what an amazing experience! It sounds like you'll be ready to come home, though. Have a great time in Hong Kong. As for Chicago news, today the Sun Times is reporting that Carol Mosely Braun may run for mayor. Also, we finally got some much needed rain this weekend. See you soon!
news Wendy,
sorry to hear India's been a challenge but i think that's way India is for everyone i've ever talked to that;s been there. I thought i should let you know that Tonya's Dad died of a heartattack two weeks ago. Here's her email if you want it. repeater@bitstream.net Obviously, she's really upset and it came as a complete shock. Sorry for the bad news but i thought you might want to know,
Happy travels-

I sense from your last blog that you grow weary Wen, refoucus and put more effort into your next entry-I insist! I know how you feel, you are entering the stage when you just want to come home. Undersand that chances like this come around once or twice in a lifetime and remember not to be homesick and savor the moment. Home is boring compared to your grand adventure. Keep your chin up and enjoy yourself!

food borne troubles! Oh, Wendy I am so sorry to hear how sick you got! Sorry I haven't been keeping up with all the comments I've wanted to make, but I am so grateful to be able to hear about your adventures as they happen! Good luck--a friend of mine who has family in India says she usually has to build in "sick days" every time she goes! Hopefully this will be the last of it! Love,
Heather
Off to Ganesh Country, I see I can't wait for the next installment in Ganesh country. Remember, many pictures of Ganesh! And you must find out the word for elephant in Hindi, etc.
Wednesday night baby Hi Wendy, Your travels sound SO interesting. Glad you're doing well. I need to learn more about this 'speciall buddha' - I'm a Wednesday night baby myself!
I need to see pictures of you feeding bananas to the elephants. This morning Mike said "Someone from Thailand looked at your website" and I thought "Wendy!" Unless some Thai person happened upon it by mistake. I hope that you're still enjoying your solitude. It must be tough to go from such a large convivial group to being by yourself. You'll make the most of it, though!
Whoa!, by Joey Lawrence If Joey Lawrence knew of your travels and adventures, I am certain I could speak for him in that he would joyously exclaim "Whoaaa!!!" You're my travel hero Wendy. Keep the blogs coming, you're an excellent writer and they are very fun!
to the cyclo warrior You brave adventurer, you! Can't wait to see all these fasinating pictures. I can't imagine how stifling the weather must be there, we hit about 99 degrees in Madison on Sunday, without the heat index, but that's probably nothing compared to "your" side of the world! Think of me as I paint my condo...loads of fun ;) Kim
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Wendy! As always, your travel journal does not disappoint. LOVED the description of the Mekong River. And I can't believe that you drove a motorcycle around town. What town was that, anyway? Hey - if you have a moment, check out my new website, "www.maureenduffy.com" Mike got it for me for my birthday.
Vietnam - surreal As someone who protested the Vietnam war (before you were born) and suffered through the news reports of Agent Orange... the thought that you and friends are having a great time in Saigon is also a bit surreal. Stay safe / have fun Love, J
Hi Wendy,
Kittens are well-they don't rest alot-Sapphire had her stitches out and the vet said she is a very healthy - well taken care of kitten.
Sounds like you're having a great time on your trip.
love from Mom-Dad and the Kittens :)
wow Wendy,
i'm so jealous! it's sounds like the temples were unbelievable. it sounds like your journey is all that and then some. Glad to hear it. I look forward to the next installment. PS i won't tell Barnaby about the giraffe preference. It might make him feel bad.
Wow I had to look up Angkor Wat on the net to see pictures. Wow. You are indeed a lucky girl. What a fabulous place. And I'd never heard of it until now. Man, do I live in in a hole or what :)
Have more fun today!
I should be there too but it feels like I am Yeah! Glad you are having a terrific time on a much deserved journey. I am envious. I would love to see the sun rise at the Temples but alas . . . I will have to wait for photos by Wendy. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! I'm eager to hear more as the fun and spectacular views keep coming.
Woohoo! Wendy,
it's great to read about your adventures. THanks so much for the pics of your NJ trip. Enjoy the heat! i'll be checking with your adventures!
a note from your little sis :) W-
Glad your experience has been good so far, other than the long flights. Been enjoying your commentary, and I look forward to more! I can almost picture the sights, tho I'm sure I'm not doing them justice. Till the next installment...
I didn't realize I'd be traveling this summer as well -- albeit vicariously thru you -- but what an adventure... I would have taken the bus as well; now you can take the plane next time, but what a way to see the countryside... I eagerly await the "next chapter" and can't wait to hear about your experience of the Angkor Temples were like... till then!
travel well! Hi Wendy - sounds like you're having a great time!! The book club is soldiering on in your absence (Stef made asian chicken with sobu noodles on Sat!) . . . I can hardly wait to see your pictures! -K
Thanks for keeping us in the loop! It's so exciting to hear about your impressions of places I've been and stories about places I've never seen. Can hardly wait for your entry on Angkor Wat!
