How fun! I'm wish I were there too. But the awaiting sheer drops while buses play chicken does not sound like fun. Nail biting anxiety is more like it. But the sight of Machu Picchu . . . Wow. I am sad that I can not be there to also enjoy it. It is on my list. Alas and alack, I shall have to enjoy vicariously through my good friend. Sounds like you have having a fabulous time. I guess I will miss you in Chicago on my trip this time! I leave for the Windy City tomorrow morning at an extemely early time.
With fantastic trips like this, DC just doesn't compare. But I hope you will be willing to lower your travel standards somewhat and soon and visit the DC area for its sites, sounds, and friends.
Can't wait for the next instalment of the Peruvian adventures!
Hello from Waukesha Glad to hear you arrived in Peru with no stress!
Today is Tuesday and we are heading to Chicago to stay at Chateau Wendy and enjoy the sights of the city. Hope the children have been behaving themselves :)
Looking forward to more of your adventures.
Love from Mom :)
also going back to MN from HK hello, just came across your site and thought it was interesting to read your perspective. I've been in HK for almost two months and a lot of those things you mentioned I think I'm feeling them, and will continue for awhile.
For me coming to HK was very very personal. My father and mother, grandparents used to live here. And in 1967 they all left HK to the US-and I and my three other siblings were born in MN.
I'm 27 and I returned to HK for the first time-it has changed my life, and I plan to one day return to stay longer-perhaps live here, but right now I'm having these very personal feelings of sadness and happiness.
just wanted to share with you.
thanks.
excellent hi,
in germany there´s a saying: when someone embarks on a journey, they can tell lots of stories. this is definitely true for you. you report made me laugh although i can imagine that you were close to losing your nerves. also out traveling adventure in the middle of nowhere came to my mind. remember when your car broke down on the way to waukesha and we had this cute old lad fix it? i think his name was bert or something similar.
looking forward to seeing you nyc (hopefully without any delays;)
enjoy the rest of your trip, steffi
W is the best letter Wow, Wendy. I'd like to get in your suitcase and go all the cool places you've been just this year alone! My future is family vacations -- did you know that I'm going to have TWINS???
Have fun! Sounds like a great trip - a little relaxation, a little adventure . . . and you're missing the 95-and-humid-as-a-steam-shower weather here in Chicago!
Happy Anniversary! We're glad you're enjoying a special time together to celebrate this great milestone. Sounds like you're all having fun.
Our grandson is in that general area, too. He's stationed at Schoefield Barracks for another week or two. If you see an Army Pfc. driving a Ford Focus, wave! It might be him!
Have fun and enoy all the pineapple you can!
Ciao!!!!! Wendy,
Happy to hear it wasn't too crazy from world cup fever. Looking forward to hearing about all the details when you return home. Safe and happy travels.
Deb
boys, boys, boys not to worry, my sweet. there are many exciting updates on the horizon, including a date with a man who teaches in the program i will soon be starting, guys whose real-life selves were impossible for me to recognize based on their much cuter and younger and fitter online pictures, the re-emergence of the guy who took me on a great date three weeks ago then sent me a vague post-date email, and last night, a guy who was SOOOO good looking that i felt sort of strange and awkward and out-of-place and embarrased the whole time. anyhoo...more details later.
so glad you're enjoying your travles. the real david is amazing, no? and yes, as you know, i was cheering for italy!
xo, k
let italy lose after kicking us out of the tournament the italian team must be (b)eaten by the french! let´s keep our fingers crossed for that! nevertheless, have fun in tuscany! steffi
world cup oh, you ladies must be having a fabulous time! (i'm so jealous). and who knew you'd be in the countries of world cup fame? i think i'll be cheering for france myself (because Nice is so nice) - but I suppose you'll have to get behind italy while you're there... "we shall watch the finals for the World Cup in Florence", oh such luxury! enjoy! -nancy
Bedroom Light Switch? What's with your bedroom light switch? Does it have an unusual toggle?
Hope you and Val have enjoyed your trip so far and that the rest goes swimmingly.
Leo
World Cup Thank you so much for the Baby Card and gift. I can't wait to see your pics. We'll be home watching the World Cup final. I think France will win. We live across from an Italian cafe and next to a plaza with a mini Leaning Tower of Pisa. Fans are getting ready. Flags are out, music is blasting. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Ciao
booo, france! have fun in france! i'm sure it will be a blast with them making it to the finals of the world cup and all. but, if you're feeling brave, cheer for portugal for me. i really want them to win the cup!
the dream is over 4th of July didn´t bring us any luck - the german team lost against italy in the semi-final. but they played really well and they would have deserved to win. let´s hope that the french or the portuguese will beat the italians in the final! your trip sounds great. we are off to berlin for the final on sunday and on wednesday (12th) we are going to italy - oh well! have fun in france, steffi
Hello from Waukesha Happy 4th of July to you and Val.
Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures in Spain and the rest of your trip. Thanks for taking the time out from your journeys to blog.
Everything is fine here - Jade and Sapphire have settled in and are behaving themselves. The worst thing Sapphire did is to try and carry off one of dad's shoes by the lace-he caught her doing it - yelled at her and she dropped the shoe and hasn't tried it since. Jade just wants to be petted and turns on his back so i can rub his tummy.
Love from Mom, Dad, Jade and Sapphire

Hi! Arek and I are really enjoying reading about your trip!
