Travel is definitely the great love of my life (now second great love since I am engaged). I grew up between Saudi Arabia and the United States and traveled extensively in the spaces between living here and there. I am 24 years old and I have been to more than 85 different countries and Islands. My goal, as big as it may seem, it to reach 100 countries before I am 30. I believe this to be an obtainable dream. I am currently in Europe for 3 months for school but plan to take time off to travel while I am here. I will post blogs and photos along the way. I feel that being blessed to travel comes with the responsibility to do so AWAKE and to be PRESENT at every moment there-in. I intend to try to bring my experiences to my friends, family, and others- to help deliver them from the ignorance and apathy that tend to envelop us when we are static and unable to be mobile, as much as we may want to be. I hope my blogs are both fun and inspirational.
With all my love of the world.

So, today started as any other typical jet lagged day. I woke up at 3 pm my time after a night of incurable insomnia. I vaguely remember the scuffling of feet over the hard wood floors of our hotel room too early to open my eyes- i knew it was my dad going off to his interview with Agusta. Not long afterward there was the same scufling of feet and I dont remember much after that. Far too tired to be interested.Turns out my dad got the job!!!! (Of course). Some deal too. Come all the way to Italy for an interview that lasted all of 20 minutes. Hes so excited and we are so excited for him. Back to waking up at 3 pm. Groggy. Tired. Head, back, everything aching from too much...or maybe not

Now that Im here it feels like I never left (I was here a few years ago, sitting in the same seats waiting for the same car, from the same company), and I wonder what I got myself in such a knot over. I will say that as soon as my feet hit the Malpensa tile I felt 100% better. I realize that travel, once its over, always seems not to have been such a big deal. This, with the natural exception of travelling with my parents. My mom is a good traveller, but my dad in his older age has become much less patient and much more testy. He tries not to be but the differences in personallity and family rank

After 8 grueling hours on an airplane (albeit business class)- I have finally landed safely in Paris. The dread and terror of the upcoming flights had me in knots for the past few days, compounded by the typical sentimentality of a newly engaged girl leaving her Fiancee to go half way around the world for 3 months. Once the terror wore off- just about the time the tires hit the parisian tarmac- the thrill began to kick in. Im glad I had a moment of excitment because the instant I stepped off the airplane I was reminded of exactly why I am such a shameless, typical, yes at times loud and obnoxious -but at least FRIENDLY- American. A bunch
... read moreAlright- well since this is my first blog I will say that I am not currently traveling. Absolutely feeling the itch as it has been about 2 months! It is hard to find other people who feel the same way about travel that I do which is why I am so happy to have found this blog site. So, basically, I am 24 and I have been to 73 countries (depending on your rules about counting countries, this would be my max.). My goal is to reach 100 before I turn 30. I believe this to be a doable task! I HOPE!! hehe. In April/May of 2008 I will be adding between 8 and 10 new countries. Will blog all about it my journey to 100!! :)
