So... Yet another morning of pain. I don't think I have ever loved water quite so much... water, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, apfelschules... if it was liquid, I was so into it. The day of pain... after all the skiing (well, standing on skis anyway) and ALL the walking the day before, I woke up feeling more than slightly in bucketloads of pain. Merry Christmas everyone!! So in Germany, there are two celebrations that take place in December, and neither of them involve Santa Claus. Early in December Nikolaus visits the kiddies and leaves lollies and presents in their shoes, and then on Christmas eve, at around 5pm, the Christ Kind, or Christ Child comes into the house and decorates the tree and leaves more presents for the kids. So... Back in Ulm... where it just kept getting colder and colder. On Sunday, Doris and Hugo (Christine's parents) came up from Oberstaufen to visit the Weihnachtsmarkts. I don't think that we had ventured outside all day, so come 3pm when we left the house... Ho-ly craaaaaa-puh! it was so cold. so very cold! I think it was about -6 degrees. I have never been that cold... and it was so windy! So today, (or last weekend, whichever way you want to look at it) Warren dragged me off in search of snow! With word from the Algau that snow had finally started to fall, all the ski passes seemed to be open, so Warren and I headed down to the Fellhorn, possibly the southern-most ski field in Germany, very near the town of Oberstdorf (the town that we visited last year with the giant ski jump...). Well... not really. On Saturday we went out to Oberstaufen to chase some snow. The night before I went along with Warren and Christine to another of Warren's Christmas parties - it was at this awesome greek restaurant, and we all ate so much food!
