Howdy hey dude..
Finally got a chance to read in detail all your blogs. Surely say I missed so much of your excitement..
Do share few more thoughts on climbing Ben Nevis.. Love to see more pictures.. looks like you do are on top of the world..
Ok me back to reading your next step..
I wonder if it was a pack rat. In addition to scavenging for food, they carry objects off to their nests. You were lucky the cord broke before they managed to drag your player away! I'm not sure I'd carry food in my pack in rat infested areas.
Rat holes Dude that sucks!! but is kinda funny, the never to be solved mystery rodent bites.... including missing jar lid... right...
and how on earth would something like diesel get onto your pack anyway??
still... sounds like you are still having fun... and beaches... lets not get into it.... I'll just say that its doing that rain thing a LOT here!
hope you're well!
cheers
Yeah, Cambodia was bad Boy was I worried when I read you gave up your passport for 24 hours. But a happy ending, you got it back! Yay. So you're finally off to Vietnam, home of the people who kicked our ass. (Yeah, I know, we won every battle. Aren't we winning every battle in Iraq?) I can't wait for the post. Hey, you climbed up Kilimanjaro a year ago. How 'bout running up it? Check this out! http://www.kilimanjaromarathon.com/
Andrew's gone asia Vietnam! In my day when Ho Chi Minh City was Siagon, that was a place no one wanted to be (except Republicans, but they wanted everyone else but them to be there--ask all those chickenhawks like Quayle, Cheney, Dubya, etc.). Where to next? China? Your Grandad was there with the 1st Marine Division when Beijing was Peking. How the world has changed once armed intervention proves not to work. You're missing some cold weather here in the states!
I'm doing great. Sorry to hear that work is "same same"! The blog is a bit behind, per usual, and I'm in Vietnam right now having spent about 1.5 weeks in Cambodia. I plan to spend the rest of the month in Vietnam and then cross into China around the first of March. From there, it's anyone's guess, but Australia is in the not too distant future.
Finally Asia Hey Andrew!
How is it going so far!! so over a month in Asia now, how are you liking it? Not much at my end, everything same as before. Which all countries are you planning to go about in Asia, elsewhere?
All the best,
laxmikant
trippin' out in Asia sounds like you're still havin quite a time over there!! wish I could do it too... traveling I mean... I like it... but have never ventured so far out as you have... hell, I haven't made it east of europe (the western half!!)
Agreed. After talking to some people I'm pretty sure it was just wax. However, in the US it wouldn't matter if it was wax or hash, they were marketing it as the real thing...
Around the world in 80 days You're really stepping out in your travels--from Rome to Bangkok. The furthest I ever went when I was your age was from Nogales to Matzalan. Glad you're updating your blog--interesting stuff. Keep it coming.
The family relationship seems somewhat sketchy, but Stephanie is from the US and Yoorana is from Tasmania, but they both have relatives in Switzerland!
Have you seen this man? Wanted for questioning: Andrew, last seen on the streets of Rome. Can be recognized by the "Donegal" beard on a Spanish barber‘s floor.
Likely carrying an open bottle of Singha. Those with liver problems approach with caution.
Nice has good pizza sold out of food trucks, but they're prob only operating daytime, so you would've missed them. And good bocce players, but also only in the afternoon
I guess it's time for an update to the profile here -- it's been a while since I've updated this!
I'm in Canada currently living with my fiancee Jen, and working as a Computer Systems Analyst. The travel bug certainly hasn't died, but it's good to have some stability. Jen and I are certainly planning to travel more in the future -- the question is just when.
Remember, I have lots more photos on flickr.
I'm also working on creating an audio guide to Angkor. Once complete, it should cover all of t... full info
