So I know its been a little while, been real busy, and no not partying or having fun, just chaotic travelling and siteseeing. So sadly I left Cafayate and took a plane to Iguazu. I met up with a great gal from Japan, Mona, and we went site seeing Iguazu falls on the Argentinian side, then the next day we hired a dude to take us to Paraguay where I bought a laptop, and then we visited the Brazilian side. Que lindo. Which side is better? Tough call... Well definately the Argerntinian side has way more and is cooler... but the [View Full Entry]

So I´m still here! Cafayate has just been too awesome to leave. Sadly I bought a plane ticket 5 minutes ago to go to Iguazu tommorow morning, so I need to catch the 5 am bus to Salta tommorow morning. So recap. Danny has pretty much been my best friend since I got here. I mentioned the wine tours... well many more wine tours.. wine ice cream, more empanadas, and too much tasty stuff. I´m going on a diet!! So we went to the waterfalls, a nice 5 hour hike that included substantial climbing on slippery rocks, and crossing the river [View Full Entry]

Well I can´t believe where i am or how its possible i ended up here. PS: Thanks Martin!! To confess, despite the beauty and wonder of salta, I felt a little lonely and sad for reason I won´t detail. However, I met a generous soul, Martin, who worked at my hostel. We pretty much spent every day together doing basically not much, and playing jenga in the night. We even went to see a movie and it was great fun. Thanks Martin!!! so I boarded the late night bus to cafeyate. i arrived around midnight in this town and as I [View Full Entry]

Hola!! So I´m in beautiful Salta, Argentina now, and how nice it is to be back in civilation. I forgot how much I missed proper concrete, shinny floors, and real stores.... lol. Actually without planning, I planned a perfect itinerary. Having started in a half developed country of paradise, Costa Rica, then to less developed Peru, then to the much more remote Bolivia. Now a nice break in European Argentina. So I took a 3 hour bus from Tupiza to the border at Villazon. I walked across the border, the crossing took almost 3 hours from bus terminal to bus terminal [View Full Entry]

Ok so i decided to go on a 2 day horse tour in beautiful canyon country. Well you know how they always give you a donkey (a crap slow horse)... so i asked for a very fast horse, but one that listens... they asked me do you have a lot of experience, and i figured since i´ve been on a horse twice and learned to gallop by accindent, yes why not..... holy crappers!!! they gave me Rosita, and i should have figured something was up when the owner asked me three times, so you have a lot of experience? a lot, [View Full Entry]

could it be nicer?

WOW!!! How can I describe the last five days... driving all day by jeep across the most remote parts of southern Bolivia... Mountains, canyons, volcanoes, snow, ice, desert, aqua, yellow, white, green, red lakes and lagoons, flamingos, sleeping in small villages, playing with local children, visiting the worlds largest salt flats where you see an endless endless sheet of white.... sunrises, sunsets, and the milky way clear as milk!! Let´s begin at the beginning.... My posse, Eric, Pedro, and Tanya were led by our awesome guide, Sebastian, and fantastic cook, Simona, by jeep into the d [View Full Entry]

and so we start!!
and so we start!!
and so we start!!

So I couldn´t sleep my last night in potosi, not just cause it was freezing (but it WAS)... I don´t know why. In any case I got to the bus station really early and bought my ticket for Tupiza, a secret gem in Bolivia. Totally resembles the wild west from old movies (in fact many american flicks were filmed here, go figure) with dry hills covered in sporadic low laying bushes and tall cacti. Really cool!! So as typical Bolivia, the bus was over an hour late to leave but thankfully we finally left. When I wasn´t sleeping I enjoyed watching [View Full Entry]

oh crap
guess we have to wait
getting out to wait

So I find myself over 4000 m above sea level in Potosi, world famous for its mining. How did I get here? Well leaving La Paz was a blurr. The last day I tried to grab a flight to the jungle but seeing as how planes can´t land in the rain and it was raining i bought a ticket for an overnight bus to sucre. The amazing feeling of empowerment and freedom was powerwing me all through my morning, but then I began to deflate and grow tired as a I dodged crazy motorists, one of which literally drove into me [View Full Entry]

So I tried to wake up at 5 am yesterday but my alarm clock failed me... sort of... and i missed my bike ride!!! AHHHHHH!! I was so bummed about having to do the same old same old in la paz for another day but decided to bust out my lonely planet and make the most of it. As backpacker luck would have it I met an Ausi, Dave, at breakfast who´s fight had been canceled that day as well. So we decided to venture together!! Totally cool day. We hopped on a local bus and took it out of town, [View Full Entry]
