I am 35 years old, turning 36 in April 2012. I am single and this is my time to find myself and see the world. I have always been an independant person, one that goes after what I want. Right now all I want to do is travel and make the most out of my life. I feel sorry for people that have no desire to be explorers, to taste the adventure of flying or walking into the unknown. Its so fun to meet people of a different background, to eat food you've never heard of and to walk the path of history. I am lucky that when I am able to look back on my life when I am old and gray I can smile and feel a sense of selfworth. For anyone who is reading this, dance like know one is watching and bring joy into your life through laughter.
I would love some suggestions on where to go for my next trip to Europe. I would like to go between June and Septemeber. Thoughts?
... read moreWe got an early start and got to Pisa by 1100 a.m. David had some cappuccino in the train station which he said was the best he ever had. Pisa is relatively a small little city with a University so he was swarming with students and tourists. It was at least a 2 mile walk to the Leaning Tower but we got there. We haven’t taken one bus, we walk almost everywhere unless we take the train and yes our feet our killing us. There were a bunch of people there all taking there picture as if they were holding the tower up or pushing it over. David was being a party pooper and didn’t want to be like everyone else, but I got him to do it. For some reason he was being shy or

Where Rome was historical and seemed very much like a locals place, Florence turned into a Tourist trap. Street vendors everywhere trying to sell knockoffs of everything and anything you can imagine. It was clean though so that’s all that mattered. We found the hostel rather quickly it was just two blocks from the train station. We were a bit early so we had to store our backpacks until after 2:30 when we were allowed to enter the rooms. (They shut down the rooms from 11-230 so they can clean the toilettes and rooms. So we decided to join the tourists and roam the streets of Florenze. It was a huge shopping meca, an abundance of asian tourists, and

So the alarm went off at 6:15 a.m. Hmmm I think we finally left the hotel at 9:00 a.m. but we were able to fit breakfast in and I was able to update a blog or two. We started towards the train and of course I got us lost for a few minutes. Sorrento is a small town on a hill with lots of winding roads that change quickly and they all look the same, but we eventually got there. Our destination today was Pompei. For those of you not familiar with Pompeii’s history, on the morning of August 24, AD 79, a deadly cloud of volcanic ash from

There were these blinds that came down on the windows that locked and turned to room pitch black so there was no waking us up .. that is until the alarm in the TV came on ... that was wierd. I am going to add pictures and alter my blog later to fill you in on the details of it all ... but its 11pm and I just got to a new hotel and I am tired. David is already asleep.

The 9 hour plane flight was .. can we say JUMPY ... I just grabbed Davids hand and got through it. Love the turbulance. We finally got into Zurich at 7:30 am and it was exciting. I was frustrated right off when I proved to myself how lost I am in a different country. 4 years of German in high school didnt help at all. Trying to get directions and information was hilarious and frustrating. It took 20 minutes but we finally made it to the train :) The mountains are so beautiful I cant even begin to explain so I will add

David seems a little on edge this morning I guess I should have let him sleep in a little longer but hopefully by the time we get on the plane all will be well again. I cant believe I have a 9 hour flight ahead of me to Zurich Switzerland followed by a 9 hour train ride to Rome. I cant wait to see Switzerland and the georgeous glaciers and mountains. Its a winter wonerderland over there right now and a brisk 37 F degrees. Nothing I cant handle. Well I am about to shut my computer down so it can sleep for the
