Geo: 37.1765, -3.59793If I never come home, look for me here in Granada. I never expected to fall in love with a Spanish city, but I did.Why Granada Is Awesome:-(1) Its got a personality. I thought Madrid was an okay city until Granada just blew it out of the water. Now I wish I had just skipped Madrid altogether and spent more time in these smaller cities. There are a few main areas in Granada... Theres the central area where we are, which is full of hostels and tapas bars and shops, etc. etc. Theres the Alhambra up on one hill... the most beautiful palace Ive seen thus far. On the opposing hill is the Albaizin, an 800 year old Muslim neighborhood. Its full of white houses on winding streets that turn every which way and ... read more

Geo: 40.4167, -3.70327 We arrived in Madrid at 9am in the morning, and prompty went looking for a place to sleep. Since we didn´t have internet in Blois, we couldn´t book anywhere to sleep for Madrid. I had wanted to stay at a place called Cat´s Hostel because its a renovated small palace and very pretty. So we walked there first... hoping they would have openings. And we got lucky ´cause they did! We booked 2 rooms in a 4 bed dorm for 2 nights for fairly cheap! Not bad! It was early afternoon by the time we were free and in need of a game plan. It was Sunday, so everything closes early. I had heard they do bullfighting on Sundays, so we decided to look into that first (let me preface that statement with... ... read more

Geo: 47.5859, 1.3301So, we arrived in Blois and decided to stay for a few days. We had only planned on a couple, but I started getting pretty sick with a cold. Not that that stopped me from sight seeing, of course. I had this fantasy in my head that we´d be bike riding along the roads of the Loire Valley to the various chateus. Apparently thats a seasonal thing. lol. No bike riding until April, even though April was just ONE week away! However, we were able to take buses to the various chateaus. So, our first whole day in Blois we checked out the chateau right there in Blois itself... It was actually only like 500ft from our hotel. The architecture was pretty cool, but not as cool as Chambord, where we went the next day. ... read more

Geo: 48.8566, 2.35097 So Paris has been very good to us. =) Yesterday we set off to go to Versailles (a giant pretty chateau palace) but it turns out they are closed Mondays. Oddly enough ALOT of things are closed on Mondays. Thankfully we discovered this on the way to Versailles and not after having gotten there and wasted all the money. lol. Anyway, so we changed plans and decided to visit the Louvre (home of Mona Lisa). This was by far the most ginormous museum I have EVER been in. We spent most of the day wandering around getting lost and only saw most of one floor and part of a second, and there are FOUR floors. We visited Lisa right off since I had heard horror stories about the mob scene getting to her. ... read more

Geo: 48.8566, 2.35097 I woke after a night of glorious solid sleep, ready to start the day! We only have 3 days in Paris, so we decided to split it up with a tour of the local stuff, a trip to see Versailles and then Disneyland day. Breakfast was included with our room- not AS good as globetrotters but still better than just toast and fake juice! We got a croissant, a french roll, cereal, real orange juice, real coffee. Mmmmm. =) After that we set off on our journey for the day... and immediately got lost heading in the wrong direction. The Parisian streets are confusing.. theyre not square blocks. Theyre crazy diagonals and triangles! So we opted for the Metro, which was a brilliant idea. We zipped around Paris all day like pros!! WAY ... read more

Geo: 48.8566, 2.35097 I got the worst sleep imaginable last night. So, I was exhausted and crashed early... about 930ish... (ps. i apologize for spelling errors.. stupid french keyboards). And some guy comes into the dorm room around 2am.. loudly. He reeks of alcohol and vomit, and slowly climbs into the bunk above me. When he gets to the top, he kicks off his shoes and they crash to the floor next to me. Then the thrashing begins... at first I had no idea what he was doing up there... It couldnt be sex, he was the only one up there. Every few minutes hed hit and kick and slam into the wall. What the hell, dude. This goes on for 45min. I tried hitting the side of the bunk and yelling at him to knock ... read more

Geo: 53.3441, -6.26749Everything about this day was perfect and amazing and epic. I'm just gonna start off by saying that. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.I woke up at 8am because I accidentally passed out early but still managed to sleep a long time... Chris and I didn't plan on meeting up in the hall until 9am, so I just got up, grabbed some green glitter nail polish, Lord of the Rings, and walked into the hall. The first thing I hear is live Irish music. Breakfast was in full swing and there was a live band. Add coffee, and I just woke up in effing HEAVEN. I just sat in a window seat, painting my nails, reading a good book and enjoyin my coffee to the accompaniment of awesome music. Sigh.Chris ... read more

Geo: 53.3441, -6.26749 So, today we had a long drive from Cork to Kilkenny to Dublin. Chris and I slept most of the drive. Kilkenny was our lunch stop. Since we'd already been there, we didn't bother with pictures of the town. We ate at the same place for lunch as last time, the Marble Bar. I had pan fried lemon sole with hollandaise sauce and Chris had a bacon cheeseburger. We were both so tired that day. All the running around and drinking was catching up with us. The afternoon when we got back to Dublin, our last tourist stop was the Guinness Storehouse. It's the Disneyland version of brewery tours. It's very over the top with all its exhibits explaining everything of the making of Guinness to the advertising (which is actually the most ... read more

Geo: 51.8979, -8.47111 This was a pretty neato day. We didn't do much besides go to Blarney Castle, though. I mean.. we went to Cobh Harbour, but it was mostly a bust for us. There's not much to do there (when you only have a 1.5 hour time limit). There was a museum that sounded interesting, about immigration and the Titanic. But when we got there we discovered it was 6euros per person, and that's the STUDENT price... So were like, hm.... coffee and scones... or a museum... Definitely a coffee day. So we toured the local cafe in Cobh. lol. After that it was on to Blarney Castle, which was pretty awesome. Chris said it was one of his favorite places so far. A lot of the castles we've been to have been rebuilt or ... read more

Geo: 52.0579, -9.50747 Today we just took a long drive around the Ring of Kerry. It's just this famous drive that lots of tourists do- it's very pretty and takes you along the coast past mountains and cliffs, green hills, rocking regions, forests, lakes, you name it we probably drove through it. Okay... maybe no deserts... but you get the idea. We didn't take as many pictures since there was a lot of driving involved... there's also some pictures of stereotypical Irish towns and stores (I just love the architecture). Our tour guide also told us about the Travelers (I know a lot about them already, but I'll recap since my last trip). I find them pretty interesting- they're modern day gypsies in Ireland. Have you seen the movie Snatch with Brad Pitt? His character is ... read more
