Geo: 44.0989, 9.74082Another marathon travelling day - shuttle bus into Bellagio, ferry to Varenna Esino, train to Milan, then to Genoa, another to Levanto and one more to Riomaggiore.Checked into our room and had the best shower !Grilled seafood for dinner at the restaurant downstairs.Sleep-in and a relaxing Sunday - train strike, so we just stayed around town.Dinner of seafood and pasta, and more wine, hic!Up and off exploring - train to Monterosso, and a walk along the foreshore. Train to Vernazza and lunch. Ferry back to Riomaggiore and a walk up to the Castello.Out for dinner and back to our room to relax. ... read more

Geo: 45.9877, 9.26198Bellagio was so beautiful that we had to come back.Caught the train from Milan to Varenno-Esino, and a ferry to Bellagio. A light lunch in town, then a shuttle bus to the hotel.Checked in and had a short rest, then back down to town for a ride on the tourist bus.Wandered around a few shops, then back to the hotel for a shower before dinner. Geo: 45.4637, 9.18813Early start today up at 5.30 - Wendy drove us to Heathrow (Thx Wendy) bit of a struggle with the traffic on the M25 but we got there with plenty of time to spare. Flight delayed, but we got to Milan without any stress and the weather is beautiful. Bus into the city and a taxi to the Hotel Lancaster.Feeling much cleaner after a shower and a bit of a rest.Had a walk around/ near our hotel, fiund a nice pizza/pasta restaurant for dinner.Now I just need to workiut how to upload photos, and we can show some food pictures!... read more

Winchester

Had a lovely evening with them and then the next day we went on a trip to Winchester to the Cathedral there , a beautiful building and a very pretty town. Geo: 50.546, -4.1535Today we went into Tavistock to the market and a wander around the shops, Tavi is a beautiful place and every time I am there I just love it, I think I could easily live there. You have the moors nice and close and it retains the feel of a real english village.Wendy and I then jumped in the car and made our way across to Launceston in Cornwell on the hunt for the elusive charlie bears that I just had to have lol. On the way we drove through the Tamar Valley which really is a beautiful as I have seen so many times on shows on the TV , no disappointment at all. Geo: -37.7772, 145.461Well what a flight, starting in Melbourne, sitting on the tarmac for 2 hours because someone thought they could fly but they were to ill, so we had to wait while they unloaded him and his luggage and then we had to re-fuel.Finally on our way yay. Arrived at Abu Dhabi to found out our connecting flight was winging its way to london without us :-).4 hours later we were on our way, arrived safely at Heathrow and my bus was long gone, luckily wonderful husband at other end had booked a room at a nearby hotel. stayed the night there and on to Plymouth and Wendy the next day.... read more
