Geo: 39.5062, 21.6156Another early start (poor us) and off to the historical site of Olympia where they held the original Olympics. The Archeological museum was really interesting, with many partial marble statues being reconstructed. We stopped in the port town for lunch and a bit more shopping.Back in the boat, and Kate read her book, while Derek went for a 20 min bike ride in the gym to work off lunch. We did the 70s Disco quiz before dinner, and performed badly, would have been better with 70s Rock or Pop.Dinner, Kate = ???, Chicken breast and veggies, and Baked Alaska.Derek = Crab cocktail, Thai Chicken breast with red curry, and Grand ... read more

Europe » Greece » Attica » Athens June 5th 2013

Geo: 37.9792, 23.7166Up early and off to the Acropolis. We drove thru Athens, it is a very big and often dirty city. There are some beautiful old buildings, but many were incomplete, or in disrepair between the port and the city. They were also pulling down some to build apartments, what a pity. The Acropolis is an amazing place, it felt strange being there, rather than just looking at pictures. The crowds were huge, and we got there early!Stopped at the old Olympic Stadium for photos, then on to a market area called Plaka, where we had yummy Greek food for lunch, and did some more shopping!Back to the boat for a snooze, then out for dinner.Kate = Tomato and Mozzarella salad, Chicken Masala and Strawberries Romanoff.Derek = Same entree and main course, and the dessert ... read more
