My best friends sister, now a weekend DJ on local radio in Australia, dedicates here 4-hour show each week to strictly country music. I couldn’t understand it? How could a city slicker girl spend a few years in an Australian country town to study and come back? Then hate the city life enough to move north of Sydney and go on radio to promote country music… By making people listen to it? Country and Western music is a niche genre in world terms; there are only a few countries, which give it time enough to produce. Australia is one but it has rarely seen complete nationwide success.
