Home soon Hi Ivan, I know I'm getting a bit wooly but no need to push the point! We will be home by the weekend, God willing. I'll get in touch once we have had a chance to draw breath.
Cheers to all back home
Geoff
Best city in the world Ah Paris, enjoy, if you're looking for any restaurants tips, I found some lovely places at www.myweekin.net and don't forget the Grand Palais for Picasso as that might not be on the Museum Pass
Happy Birthday Dear Geoff and Sue
Happy Birthday Geoff and welcome to the 55+ world although you got there a little bit early thanks to Kevin 07!
Your blogs are a real highlight and such fun to read. Coffee in Manuka will be so boring after your experiences! Thank goodness you got back on the #5 bus but it doesn't sound as if you have made too many blunders along the way considering the travels you have undertaken. I look forward to hearing about Pais and your adventures on the Somme.
Travel well and continue to have the time of your lives
Anne
Happy Birthday Happy Birthday Geoff, hope you have a good day, try some italian wine for us, they say the Rose is nice! Sue keep away from those short curly black headed italian boys, I have met one once in my life and they are cute, even worse are the greeks! Cheers
HI Sue Thanks for the birthday wishes and to you too for the 27th. Soory about the delay in responding but we have been having all sorts of trouble with internet access since we left Rome. We have just arrived in Florence and even the hotel access is not great. Have a fabulous time on your dive trip - wil chat when we get back to OZ.
Cheers,
Geoff

Nice to hear from you Hi Tim,
Prego!!
We are also getting a bit tired doing the trip but it is absolutely fabulous!! every town-city we go to the sights get better. Read the blog tomorrow - we have started exploring Rome and just popped into the Basilica in Piazza Novona - absolutely overwhelming with the artwork and the statuary!! Just bought a Rome pass so its all on for young and old!!
All the best to you and all the old work mates - we need to get together for a cuppa when we get back in a few weeks.
Cheers,
Geoff
Suits and Jewellery Geoff in a suit - the old seadog - I'd like to see that ;-)
Loving the updates - green with envy - just having a coffee before I head off to .....w..or.k.......
Good on you!
Greekiness! Hi guys, how are you finding Greece? The weather here has taken a sharp turn towards summer, but who knows if it will last. Doing ok here, wish I was on holiday too though!
Photos Glad to see you made it.
It looks like you have made it into some kind of aspect ratio space warp though :) Is that because the travelblog is forcing the aspect?
Also I notice some of the outdoors shots are a bit overexposed (the sky is glowing, and the castle ramparts etc look a bit washed out). Make sure the exposure compensation is set to about -0.7 or -1.0 (under-exposed). The D40 apparently tends to overexpose. You can always lighten an underexposed photo, but if it gets overexposed you will lose colour detail.
Also a tip, if the foreground (those goofy looking tourists) are more a lot more darkly lit than the background (eg. in shadow or bright background), you can use the onboard flash to tweak the light level. You may have to fiddle the exposure a bit to get it to look right..
Keep us posted.
Chris.
Having retired from paid work, Geoff's aim is to drag Sue travelling the world... or was that my aim! Anyway, we're off to start our major adventures having seen a bit of Australia. Now it's time to start on Europe and further afield. Enjoy our hopefully not too boring journey.... full info
