Day 26. After the hell getting out of New York City, we made it into the state of Massachusettes. We wanted to try and make ot Boston, but after getting lost in New York, it was getting pretty late, so we decided to stop along the way at a place called Devon. It was a nice litte town on the ocean, very senic and quiet. Today, wasn't too exciting, we spent it driving through three different states, starting with Massachusettes, we went through Maine, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. We stayed on the US side of the border that night in a place called Eddington, we basically drove until we got tired. Day 27. This morning we crossed the US/Canadian border. We had no problem getting back through, we were asked if we had any ... read more

Day 23. When we woke up the next day in Albany, it was raining, noooooo!!! I checked the weather for New York and yes, it rain was forcasted for the next two days. Are you kidding me?! It was raining the whole way to New York City, we stopped about an hour out of the city to find a hostel to stay at so we could get directions into the city. I was really nervous about driving in the busiest city in the world and now I had to do it in the rain, crap. So with the directions written down, we set off for the big bad city, how exciting. Oh my god, the roads in New York are terrible, potholes, puddles of water everywhere, hmmm, maybe I should rephrase that, huge puddles of ... read more

Day 19. For Sault. Ste Marie, we had another long drive in front of us, we were heading for Toronto where we'd be staying for the next three days. Jenn's Mum was nice enough to let us stay at her place in a town about forty minutes out of the city called Aurora. Jenn sent us directions of how to get to the house and we found it pretty easily. We arrived around 5 or 6 in the evening, it was Halloween. Debbie put a couple of pizza's in the oven while we answered the door for trick or treaters. The kids were so cute, we had a kid dressed up in a dragons outfit, the superman came and knocked on the door and of course their were little princess'. Their weren't as many as ... read more

Day 14. So Connie decided to join us after all. We had to pick her up at the greyhound station at 12:20, so we left a bit early as I didn't know how to get there. We were there about half an hour before the bus pulled in, so we got something to eat and a hot chocolate. Then I thought I better call Walter, family I had no idea about and after the call, I realised he didn't know anything about me either. So I introduced myself and told him how I was related and asked if we could meet, I think he was still a bit confused but he was up for the meeting. And he seemed pretty nice on the phone. After we collected Connie, we headed off in the direction of ... read more

Day 6. After walking through the very nice town of Prince Rupert and saying goodbye to Shawn, we left town around one o'clock and headed back to Terrace. We stopped at A&W for lunch as Micha had never had it before then went in search of Walmart as I wanted to buy some snow boots. My joggers are going in the bin, they leak and no good to me when my feet are getting wet. Oh well, gives me an excuse to buy some new joggers too. I found some nice warm boots that are good for temperatures of down to twenty below, they're pretty comfy too so that's good. We then climbed back into the car and headed north. We were actually hoping on driving through the night. We made it to Bell II ... read more

Ok, so the first day of life with Hell's Gate Airtram. Micha and I picked up our car from Vancouver airport and drove into the city to meet up with Jenn and Heidi for breakfast. Driving on the opposite side of the road and car was really different, but I think I'm picking it up ok. There was a few times that I turned onto the wrong side of the road and maybe even ran a red light as I didn't see it lol. Oopps. Anyway, we found our way to Jenn's place and went to Denny's for a late breakfast early lunch before leaving. I was planning to be in Kelowna on the first night, but as we got away late, we decided to stay at res. So, when we left Jenn and Heidi, ... read more

I can't believe my time at Hell's Gate is coming to an end, only a few more days till I leave. This summer has gone so fast. I've met so many nice people from different parts of the world here, and I've had a blast, I hope my winter turns out to be the same. I attended my first ice hockey game the other night in Chilliwack. Gina and Ron bought us tickets and drive us in with them. Our seats were directly behind the box where all the players sit when their not playing, they were awesom seats. Chilliwack Bruins were playing a team from Washington state. There was so much excitment in the arena, Heidi and I made it onto the big screen twice, once dancing to the chicken dance and the other trying ... read more

Well, it feels like things are coming to an end already. Danny, Jenn, Nate, Chris and Kim have all left to go back to school, except for Chris, he went home to England for another job. So now there's only Andy, Heidi, Elbie and I left at res. We had a farewell party for Nate and Kim, which they both got pretty drunk and had nice hangovers for their flights home. Alot of people from work came too, Diane, Gina and Ron, Kathy and Ken, Ashley and Kelsey, then everyone from res. The fire ban was lifted the day of the party, so we were able to have one last fire for them. It was a pretty cold out that night, so I put on this huge spare jacket on that was in our house, it ... read more

I've been pretty slack with my next blog, I know, but not alot has been happening. I've a little bit converted to country music. Kathy and Ken took Heidi, Elbie, Jen and I to a concert playing Dustin Bentall. He was amazing, I think it was classed as new country. We had a great time though, we our photo taken with him and Kendall Carson, another country artist who was playing violin for him. They were playing in a packing house at Spencer's Bridge, it was small, but everyone had an awesome view. Brian and Tara got married. What a beautiful day they had for the wedding. While they were getting ready and married, little did Brian know that instead of four tour buses coming, we actually had six and constantly had people coing in right ... read more

I've had such a good week this last week. I had put on my facebook status that I was heading to Calgary, so Troy called me saying that he was there too, so we made arrangements to meet up the next day. On Wednesday night, Ken and Kathy took me to Abbotsford Airport to board my flight to Calgary. My flight left at 1945 and landed at just after 2200. When I went through the arrival gate I met the guy I was staying with, Joe. Thanks to Jules, he offered me a place to stay. So after I had collected my bag, we headed out the doors and into his truck. Once we were at his place, he showed me the little room and bed that he'd made up for me, then we sat talking ... read more
