Now that I'm caught up.... ...I'll try to stay abreast of your postings. So tell me, is that public laundry in Guata city a coin-op?
Hope you stay well and come home safely.

Glad You're Feeling Better Hey Sue:
I just wanted to say hi and I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm so jealous of you right now. You seem to be having such a wonderful learning experience. Not that I'm not (it's just a little different than yours). Being a mother is the most wonderful experience anyone could ever endure. I feel like I'm super woman right now (unless someone just slipped me some space cookies, lol). Hope you enjoy the rest of your travels, but we still can't wait until you get back. Little John (who isn't so little anymore) wants to see you. Love you and miss you lots. MWAH!!!!!
Yey! Hi Sue - I'm so glad you are feeling better. Once you get into the swing of things, that adreniline rush will kick in again. I know you are going to enjoy it so much. In fact, I have a feeling you will be writing us that there is just not enough time to see everything! Keep us updated on your new discoveries!
I hope you feel better soon Hi Sue, Sorry to hear about you condition, I hope you feel better soon and don't have to cut your travels short. It sounds like you are having the time of your life! (except for the intching, of course). I'm glad you have so many that care about you, to keep watch over our lovely Sue. Take care and feel better real soon. I will certainly keep you (as I always do, in my prayers.)
Love ya.....be safe!
Patty
Sue!! Sue: I am so sorry to hear about your condition. I am sending you wishes now. I hope you get better soon. I have missed you a lot although my studies have left me with little time for anything else. Wish I was visiting you, but I understand you are in a state of travel.xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Oh my goodness I'm so sorry Sue - I will pray for you and hope you can continue your traveling as planned. I'm sure all your family and friends are comforted knowing Alejandro and his family are taking good care of you and that you've met wonderful people along your journey to provide support.
Stay in touch and let us know how you are doing. Love - Jen
Home Remedy Hey Sue. Sorry to hear about your problem. I had something similar before and I bath in corn starch to stop the itching. Yeah, just regular starch and benedril tablets. If you can get some starch, mix it in some water, keep the viscousity kind of thick but not to pasty. Put it on your forearm and see how it does. If it works, put a good amount in a bath tub, bath and do not wipe it off. Let it dry. I hope it works for you. Let me know if you decide to come home. Good luck and God bless you!
Itches , itches!!! Poor Suzie!! I feel so badly for you!!!! when we were in Guatemala, I got fleas in my sleeping bag and thought I was going to die!!! So I can sympathize with you at least a little!! and in Huanaco, Peru, I got bitten by a special sand flea/fly -- fortunately the cure was just to put lotion on my body. but yours sounds much more serious!!! I will certainly be praying that God touches your body and gives you relief -- itching can really be so agonizing!!!!
While I've got your attention -- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I know it's a little early -- but in case we don't hear from you for a while, I didn't want to miss the opportunity!!!
We miss you -- your birthday is our next Borders' meeting -- so you can think of us gathering in your honor while you celebrate your birthday in latino style!!!
Love ya lots!! Linda (L)
Those feet must belong to a goddess!!!!!!!!! Wow, I never thought I would actually get to talk about those feet again. You must remember way back when fruit stretchies were in and Sue Persia(size ?10?) wore sandals that showed how beautiful those long slender things could look. Oh yeah, "goddess feet" and yet they still look as gorgeous as the day the man on the el told you so. Please tell me you remeber this because I have to admit that was one of the bestest times we ever had even though we should've been in school. But if we were in school how would that bird poop on my nose and give me good luck? LOL cracking up so hard, I think I might have to go potty. Ok, really now you sound like your having a good time even if you are getting robbed while you're there. I'm sure he needed that stuff more than you guys did. I hope your passport wasn't in that backpack. It would suck to go through that process all over again. Keep sending the blogs and pictures. I am living in another place through your eyes and it is spectacular and invigorating. It is such a beautiful place. Have fun and be safe I love you more than tortillas and sopillas. Jennie
not much to say we had our borders' babes meeting last night -- and you were the talk of the town! Sure wish you'd been with us! We had a good time -- just Jenn, Marci and I -- so we met at the Wilmington Borders, rather than springfield -- but wish you could have been with us -- or that we were with you!!!! Love ya lots!

I just love reading your adventures Hi Sue,
Your trip sounds amazing!! I look forward to reading your adventures of the day and tell all my friends and family what a great adventure your on. Cudos to you :)
I'm glad your happy and can't wait to get together when you come back, keep up the great story telling, my kids especially love to hear them. But, I'll keep the space cookie log just for me (too many questions) Hahaha.
Continue having a great time and learning all this new great stuff, but most importantly.....BE CAREFUL.

space cookies Hey Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue!
By "space cookies" I initially thought you were talking about internet spam - not mind spam.
I'm still ardently following your travel blogs. Thanks for keeping us posted Suze! It's fun to get your updates. I feel like I need a "where's waldo?" calendar and thumbtacks to chart your movements :)
Max started "puppy training" he meets once/week with Cricket, Lacy, and Champ, and their people, to learn basic obedience training. He's a smart little beastie boy.
Summer's going fast in Philly. Pete just got a new job that could facilitate us going to Thailand next Spring to see his family (who will cross the border from Burma to meet us). Your travel blogging is inspiring me for such an adventure.
Hasta la vista Suze,
m
Hey girl! Space cookies eh - You need to bring some of those home! LOL
You are such a brave soul.
I'm so impressed with all that you do. Not only are you a student, but are teaching as well! So glad you were able to get that police report so that you can get your visa stamp!!!

Hi Sue, I'm sooooo enjoying your journal- living vicariously your adventures. [I think I was born too soon... Sorry about your grandmother but she led a good life.
love,maz
No pinching!! Enjoy every minute. The view looks incredible. I am looking forward to a visit with you once you return, you will have to show me how to make tortilla's and your new Salsa moves ;-)
passport issues Check to see if there is a 'Summer Institute of Linguistics' (not sure of spanish translation - instituto de linguistico, maybe?? They deal with missionaries coming in and out of the country all the time -- they are an american based organization -- that's where we stayed WAY too many years ago! anyway -- they are usually very helpful and would possibly have some suggestions or friends at immigration to give you a hand. worth the phone call, anyway! I'm sure they've had things like this happen before -- all sorts of college students, new families pass through their "portals" -- someone must have lost a passport at least once!
cami's journal Hi Sue, you wonderful person!!
I've tried to comment before but being techno challenged it nvere worked. Am loving vicariously living your vagabond life.[think I was born too early]Helped a good friend thru a scary medical test yesterday and one of the nurses has invited me to go to Homer Alaska[becus I'm hippie enuf to fit in] not bad since I'm close to my 75th b'day in Aug.
