Last week, a friend had cause to take a visit across the border into Thailand. Since his journey was mentioned during a bit of a drinking session, things very quickly progressed into the planning of a ‘road trip’! Changes are a-foot here in Sihanoukville, the Irish Bar Darby O’Gills which opened less than 12 months ago, has been sold and reopened yesterday under German ownership as “Ann’s Bar”. A less than inspiring name I have to say. It seems ‘Ann’ is from Thailand and the Bar, Restaurant and Guesthouse will be offering both Western and Thai food. On opening night last night, we were able to sample a little of it and I have to say, whilst it was by no means ‘bad’, the Pad Krapow just wasn’t to my own personal taste. Just not spicy enough.
