You weren't very hungry!
You must have bypassed the main street in Broken Hill there's a few cafes there that open early. Café Alfresco used be our Sunday morning breakfast treat with the kids every now and then when we lived there. Still shows open @ 7am every morning. What are we gunna call Kev now? Can't be big Kev anymore if you don't let him eat. Cheers Darryl. Will you guys be back for Ulysses Xmas Dinner @ Grafton? Answer on my email if you like. All the best Adams's

Got to ask why is the water icy cold? It is at the top a rock exposed to sunlight. Is it purely the ambient air temperature?

Water on the rock
It was a gramma hole, fed from a permanent spring - I assume the water temperature from underground where it comes from...

Lots of happy memories
Hi Sue and Kevin, Finally slowed up enough to catch up on your trip. I never really thought about the rough road into the bungles and when I read your story I remembered how it was so rough. We had a troppy full of german tourist in front of us and every gully crossing they would fly through it. IT is so nice to read your adventure. It brings back all the memories of when we were out that way. It certainly sounds like it is a bit busier now then when we were there but the noisy neighbours hasn't changed. We had a pup tent with a queen bed in it and we would pick it up and move to a quieter area. The noisy inconsiderate people were the most annoying thing. Anyway we have nearly finished the house and hope to get out on a few adventure soon. loving your story and keep in touch. Love Terry and Brian xx

Algae
Hi In photos 383 and 416 there is something on the top of the water. Is it algae? Is the water stagnant? C

Algae
It is called Tufa, a natural substance that sticks to trees/roots etc, and calcifies into rock formations.

Route plan...

TA! That helps
Thanks for the route plan, that helps. Looking at that last lot of photos I remembered how blue the skies are out there without the pollution, not to mention the night skies. You will have to try a long exposure night time shot while you are far from interfering human lights.
