Its our last day! Boo! As you can see I became very lazy with updating this again - apologies. Its a bit boring to sit on a computer when the sun is blazing outside and I have a tan to get - to prove all you non believers wrong! I've finally defeated those pale skin Barker genes! Anyway, since the last blog we've done so much. We had our visit to Fraser Island and I was actually in the middle of writing a blog entry about it when the internet I'd paid for ran out and it angered me so I couldn't be bothered to do it all again! Fraser Island was incredible - we visited Lake Mckenzie, went walking through the forests etc and then on my birthday we went to 75mile beach, the Maheno ... read more

Hii! I keep wanting to start these blogs with "g'day" but I can't quite bring myself to do it! Okay so now we're in a lovely little place called Rainbow Beach. there's not a lot to do here except go to the beach and once again embrace the east coast culture and spend the day on the beach! So that's what we've been doing :) Before we were here we were staying in a place called Noosa which again is another east coast surfing town so not much to report from our visit there apart from sunbathing on the beach! no surfing though because the waves were definitely not for the beginners! A cyclone out near Fiji is causing the coast to be a bit dangerous for swimming in the sea but perfect for experienced surfers ... read more

Hi everyone! I can't remember what I told you about on the last blog entry so if I repeat myself then sorry! I think we were in Byron Bay and making our way to Surfers Paradise the last time I update this. So I'll start from Surfers. Surfers Paradise was not really what you'd call paradise. But for surfers the waves on the coast wipe you out even if you're standing in the shallows so I suppose it is aptly named for them! The beach (part of the Queensland stretch of coast named the Gold Coast) is lovely though as are all the beaches in this country! Only its impossible to sunbathe because its so unbelievably windy (hence the ideal surf conditions) after 20mins of lying on the beach, you realise the wind and sand are ... read more

hello!! Well we've managed to locate free internet so here goes a massive belated blog update! After my last one we headed up to the blue mountains in our vw camper! We picked her up in a suburb called Dee Why which meant once we were in packed up and ready for our road trip we headed blindly back into Syndey over Harbour Bridge which was a) terrifying because at this point paul had only been driving for about 20mins and we still didn't know when/if she was going to conk out on the side of the road, but b) amazing because the views from the bridge are pretty nice! So armed with no road map and only the knowledge that we needed to be west of Sydney to get on the Great Western Highway into ... read more

Hiii! I'm being very lazy with doing this since we're nearly 2 weeks in and I havent written anything yet but a) internet costs and b) i'm busy! so even though probably only my mum will be reading this (hi mum) thank you for being patient everyone! So! Melbourne first - loved this city! It was incredile. Visited St Kilda and saw Little Penguins! They were just sleeping in between the rocks about a metre from us so that was so cool seeing them! And saved us a nice $100+ since we didn't need to go to Phillip Island to see them! We also went to the Melbourne Museum which was obviously really fun :) and spent a lazy sunny afternoon lounging in deck chairs eating our packed lunches in Federation Square and watching Ratatouille on ... read more
