Dreams I can only dream of the Pamirs...that dream of one who wished but never got around to it. Really pleased for you that you did get around to it...and you're now living the dream. May it be ages before you have to wake up!
Ni how haha I have photo with you and your backpacker !!!!:)
STAY safe with your travel and good day!!!!!!!^^
I will keep to fallowing your blog ^^~~~~~~~~~~~~~
thanks for useful info on your blog I'm doing a similar trip Dec/Jan. And it's been hard to find out how long travel between the various places takes. I arrive in El Salvador - Honduras - Nica - fly back to New Zealand from San Jose. 12 Dec to 23 Jan. My list of what to see is longer than my time. maybe there'll be a trip 2. cheers mate
Cool stuff.... Did you run into Indiana Jones? Going to Mariner's game on Friday night with Clapton & Classic Steve - we'll have a round (or two or three) in your honor!
No visit to Thailand is complete without a visit to the highest mountain... Doi Inthanon at 2565 m. The first time I was there in 1968 I had to hike two days to get to the top. I spent 6 weeks surveying the top. I returned in 1974 to build the 48 km road to the top and the radar station. So now you can drive all the way to the top in a couple of hours from Chiang Mai.
Costa Rica You can do without the hot water but not the screens in the windows. That you for sharing your story. What a great adventure. The photos are amazing. Happy travels.
Thanks, MJ. I think I've had 2 hot showers in 2 weeks in CR - one in San Isidro which probably would have been OK cold and one in San Jose which was necessary as it was kind of cold there. Still beat after all the hiking. Now relaxing in Tortuguero for a couple of days before heading to Nicaragua next week.
Glad to see the trip reports! Looks like you're enjoying Central America! It was tough watching the superbowl, but the lesser of two evils won. I'll take Dick Sherman over any Manning! Hope the Pats get away from signing end of career guys in the off season and find up and coming talent on the defensive side in particular. Hopefully the Celts trade Rondo, before he ruins TANK-A-PALOOZA '14. So by you're comment below you are no longer living in Seattle? Have fun.
TANK JOB Hola Jason!
Pats laid an egg against DEN. Shudder to think what would have happened to them had they played the 'Hawks. I'd rather see the Celtics trade Green than Rondo although with all their draft picks they could easily find a replacement for either. Hope all is well.
Sorry for you loss I do hope you've recovered from the game. Being a Bronco fan (MJ) I felt differently about the outcome of that game but I've been in your shoes many times and feel your pain. Our sports addictions can be painful. It sounds like Panama City was a great place to explore for a few days. Your photos tell a great story. Your hike sounds great even though you were tired. Looking forward to reading more.
Thanks but at least now I don't have to worry about where, or even if, I'm going to watch the SB. DEN and SEA - two of my least favorite teams and I lived in Seattle for 13 years before setting out on this trip. Good luck Sunday!
Eagles Nest Hi Jon,
You might want to visit the Eagles Nest in Bavaria. According to the Huffington Post the Bavarian government will begin a 22.5 million dollar renovation of the place in 2015. Martin Bormann, Hermann Goering, and Albert Speer also had their own mountain retreats nearby. Bloody infested with Nazis. Continue having fun. Retirement Beckons
