plitvice Jon, when exactly were you there; I visited the park last Friday when the weather was still okay, after a gorgeous week on the Croatian coast. Saturday it was already very bad, raining etc. (but good for the slaps of course!)
Cheers, Arie
There were 3 passengers and each paid 50 MKD to the center of Struga. It's more to the bus station. But you have to get the share taxi from the bus stand in the center of town. If you try to flag down a taxi somewhere else I'm sure the fare will be higher.
Just checking in Grossglockner looked like a lot of fun. I haven't been able to check in on every update, but do when I can. NFL is officially underway and the Denver/Pats game is looking like it is gonna be good. Check you later man. -clapton
Harsh? Geez! You had my hopes up there for a minute. I wanted to see what a harsh hotel, Turkey-style, looked like. No such luck. You've probably seen your share though. No harsh hotels in Bedford, MA though. Got rated in the top five on CNN recently as most "livable" towns in the US. See ya.
My hotel last night in Safranbolu was in fact the harsh hotel. Either falling apart or still being built. And 50' from the blaring mosque at 5 am. Harsh and bitter...
tourists Hi Jon,
When you mention all the tourists at the site, where are most of them from? Europe? Asia? Are you seeing many US travelers? I'm curious because it seems like so many American's are not traveling to Turkey or the surrounding areas...Great pictures by the way !!
Great idea, thanks again ! Besides, in spit of your review we're going to stay some days in Kyzyl to attend the Naadym festival. So we will most probably have time for that horse ride.

Chessboard
Hi Jon, I loved Get Smart, so is there a connection I'm missing out on with chessboards?
