To call Santa Isabel beautiful, breathtaking, and spectacular would be to understate this small town that overlooks a wide valley at 4500 feet in the Andes Mountains. Once again, our pictures cannot capture the color and the depth of what we saw and felt. You also can't really show the lack of pollution; the smell of clean air, no haze in the air, the quiet nights, and the endless gauze of stars smeared all across the night sky. Needless to say, we loved it here. But the town and surroundings came in second place to the people of Santa Isabel. As in Cuenca, we quickly formed friendships with people who we could never forget, and hope to see again very soon.
