Oh the memories Thomas, it was a pleasure to view your photos as it brought back a lot of fantastic memories. Jodi and I spent the Chinese New Year in Tiger Leaping Gorge ten years ago and I remember buying fireworks and (quite inappropriately) shooting them at the big statue of Mao while it was snowing! We also sat in on an evening performance of the NaXi orchestra in the old town, which was one of the most memorable musical experiences I have ever had (and I've had quite a few!). Keep the blogs coming!
All that glitters... Yes, beware the Chinese copies of electronic stuff. The art of making things look authentic has been perfected. The art of making things work properly is yet to be considered.
Where's Aker? How come you didn't get a snap with that hand stand man?
He'd be there somewhere for sure.
Sorry about no reply last time, hardware glitch or buffoonary this end perhaps!!

In the middle of 2005, Jenni and I decided a change was necessary. We decided to move overseas to teach. We both agreed that if we ever got to the end of our teaching careers and hadn't used our qualifications and experience to do some traveling, then we would regret it. We didn't want to end our careers with those regrets.
So here we go. With our (then) 11 year old son, Thomas, we went to Sydney to attend a schools' fair and get a job. Here is the story of our overseas teaching adventure.... full info
