The Sydney Fair

In the middle of 2005, Jenni and I decided a change was necessary. We decided to move overseas to teach. We both agreed that if we ever got to the end of our teaching careers, and hadn't used our qualifications and experience to do some traveling, then we would regret it. We didn't want to end our careers with those regrets.
So here we go. With our (then) 11 year old son, Thomas, we went to Sydney to attend a schools' fair and get a job. Here is the story of our overseas teaching adventure.
Our first task was to get a job. We went to the Sydney School Fair in December 2006. Our top choice was Hong Kong International School, but would have gone to a few other places. We got the HKIS jobs on the second day of the fair. After that it was fun time...The Rocks...climbing the bridge...ferries...Manly...Bondi Beach. I can understand why Sydney is one of the great spots in the world to visit.
Tom and I had decided to climb the bridge. We did a bit of climbing practise before we left. We didn't really need to. It wasn't a hard climb but boy ... it was great! We suited up and were given safety training before we got onto the bridge. We were roped(?) onto a cable so we couldn't get off if we tried. The whole climb took about 2 hours. Next stop ... Hong Kong.

Essentials
Sounds exciting. Essentials for planning: -Subscription to an AFL web site so you can stream some games. -Sponsorship with Kraft Foods for constant supply of Vegemite. -Your new contact details (phone, email, school) for emergencies such as Liberals winning the election.
