Can't wait to see you! Loved the photos of all the gardens'bounty. An amazing promise fulfilled! Will make the oatmeal bread asap, and look forward to doing some baking with you. Those raisin pinwheel rolls you showed looked right on!! And your journey is bringing you full circle---back to RI for a while. Call me as soon as you get settled and want some nice "cat-cuddle time" with Pasha, Ping and Mei Ling. Love, Holly

We have to Talk!
Megan, Too bad you have to leave Farm Life which you have surely taken to a new level, but You Will be Back at it Soon, I predict. Meanwhile, here at home, the winter pear tree has given a lavish harvest from which we will try to preserve some of the harvest for you to use for cooking. As for parsnips, we planted them, according to plan, in May, but have had massive crop failure. (Advice when you arrive back in RI). Are you going to be working @ Olympic? Vanderbilt? (Will probably be checking in with your Mom and Dad meantime for more details.

I'm going to miss your adventures!
Probably not as much as you will, but I loved hearing about it, I still think you should write AT LEAST a local article about it for your paper!

"One Year Later" just blew us away...
Dear Megan, You surely have had an awesome year, and you richly deserve all of it. Somebody once said "you get out what you put in" and your year is a case in point. Re mulch, you are the second person THIS WEEK who's called it to my attention...and our landscape on Indian Avenue is proof - where we shortchanged it we lived to regret. Is Mark in S.F. Mark Liiv, by chance? Had not heard about land purchase. So now you will continue to blog? Thanks again for a great "yearbook."

travels
Beautiful pictures!! Though was a little dissapointed there were no saddle bar stool pictures. Haven't been to Jackson Hole since 1992. Always thought the antler archway across the street was so cool. Enjoyed reading this entry!

Your photos
Crater Lake is my fave, but I am in love with the cat you're hanging on to in the pouty thistle-weed photo. He is a doll! Your visit with us was a delight! And if I'd known I could have shared my sourdough secrets with you. I've been baking my own bread for 50 years! Love from Holly, Joh, Pasha, Ping and Mei Ling

Love the photos
Absolutely the best pictorial record of your journey! Love the vivid descriptions and word images you create. You're a born author! Your parents were here Sunday and promised to bring you over for a visit when you come home. Can't wait to see you! Love, Holly

I talk about you
I've told several friends what my niece is doing. They want to read your blog; so, I'll give them the blog info. They don't believe me when I tell them about the apple trees. I always look forward to your blogs and am proud of you. Anne and Bob

another great entry
Love all the pictures. It looks like it was a lot of fun there, the goat shelters look great! You are really travelling far for your next farm, will you start to work your way back after your farming in Oregon? What kind of farm will it be there? Travel safe!! Be careful in New Orleans!

Incredible experience!
Megan, thanks for taking the time, even when you must be tired to the bone, to tell this wonderful story in pictures and almost poetic prose! I do hope you also find some sustainable farms. Hank

Life is good!
You are incredible Miss Megan. I would have to pack all those baby goats in my suite case, they are all so adorable. Benjamin is stationed in Petaloma CA in USCG, you should look him up while you are out there. Bring him a kid (baby goat right?) it will remind him of home!!! I hope I hear of your next adventure, better then watching TV. Good luck and have fun. Tina Little
