A big hug to you,
Bobbie
I now want a baby goat Oh great, now I want a cute baby goat! Aleks didnt want me to get a PUPPY! Bet he's gonna wish he just said yes about the Puppy!
What???one month without farm diaries?I will miss your timely reports;your delight and enthousiam are palpable and contagious, making your blog a joy to read!Voltaire was right:"we must cultivate our garden" to find happiness in simple pleasures....
P.S.I had goat in a Mexican restaurant last Thursday-and the time before that...
What a wonderful blog Megan,
I so enjoyed reading about your Redneck experiences. You are doing things now that really matter!! What adventures, you will have a wonderful treasure of memories.........Hopefully see you around the holidays...
I See your Future Megan, you sure have a writing talent (or could it be stand-up comedy? - hope it is the former, as I don't get out to the clubs. I'm stuck here on quiet uneventful Indian Avenue; luckily I have two computers, two cameras and a body ready to LOL. Thanks.
p.s. Interesting, too, as I come from the Midatlantic Region where they aren't quite rednecks, but close.....and John Deere is a very big name.
Cheers!
hahah Ha, Margaret, I think he must have said "fixin" but I was so distracted by the guys without teeth.. or maybe the 7 year old playing pool that I didn't remember it correctly.. haha!
Kelly- This guy, Ty, chews tobacco! Even if he was prince charming, there could be no romance with him for the chew alone.. imagine kissing that?! ahhhhhhhhh!! but I appreciate the optimism! xox
love it! I'm sure he said he was "fixin" to go muddin :) My redneck friend says she didn't know that "fixin" wasn't a real word until she was an adult. It sounds like nice healthy living there, I love hearing about it! I used to have a friend with guns and loved shooting them, until we got to the 45, I shot that once and said, all done with that one! That was a scary one! Enjoy yourself hillbilly!
You ol' country bumpkin! This was a very interesting funny blog! Best one yet I think! Sounds like you are getting your share of new experiences! Any romance with this new guy??
Some Thoughts on "It's Just like... 1. Did I ever tell you I grew up on a dairy farm? With dairy cattle (Guernsey), chickens, pigs, dogs and six-toed cats?
2. Even though I never had to scrape out the coops, I remember reaching in for eggs (and trying to avoid being pecked!)
3. Love that Goose only lays one egg every other day.
4. Will think of you as I buy goat cheese at the Coastal Farmers Market in Wickford!
5. Keep up the great work - will read and pass along every entry to Hampton family, as well as locavore eaters like ourselves.
Old MacDonald Had A Farm Meggie Dear,
We love your journals and photos. Our winter day is transformed by your e-mail! Why does it not surprise me to hear that you're working with animals? Your mom left a message on my machine on Friday--I am going to call her right now. I can't wait to see pictures of the baby goats!
Be well, dear Mes.
Love,
Holly
Great Blog - I'm subscribing Same as title - your Dad forwarded link - great reading, having been in the area where you're working, but not so hands on!
Do you know of the large, commercial landmark "Robert is Here" - on the way to the Everglades ) where, by the way, you should try to get in any time you can while you are there.
yes i finally came on. wow the pictures look sooo incredible..the food looks amazing too can we switch places! you were successful in making me jealous haha miss you:)
You must be buff! Megan,
Do you have Michelle Obama arms from all the work? the work you described is a physical workout. One day when you're older and sitting at a desk job, all flabby, you'll think about this work. I love the photos of all the produce. Do you get any meat or all vegan? Bob is still sleeping, I'll tell him to read blog.
Anne
mojitos Sugar cane, mint,Key West?Sounds like the makings of a Mojito!!!This is merely a literary reference to Hemingway and to his favorite cocktail hour libation....

I have joined World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF - www.wwoofusa.org) to farm-hop across the United States. I will live and work on organic farms around the country in exchange for room and board. I am always looking for people and places to visit along the way, so feel free to let me know when there's an available couch! I'll try to keep this updated as often as possible.
