Wow! Fantastic photos again - I love the one of the lavender with the leading lines. It sounds wonderful being in the volcanic mountains - a geographer's paradise indeed.
Continue to have a brilliant holiday.

Parma and Bologna GREAT photos - love Roger's pigeon toes. Seriously though, great photos of the cheeses lined up, the deli window etc. No wonder you are proud of them.
There are 2 main things I remember about Bologna - the granita and the colonnades, mainly the latter. Does it remind you of the columns under the Toaster??? Hah.
Glad you're having a great time.

Erice had lunch in Erice. Fabulous drive up there, sadly view was a little hazy that day but still an interesting little place. However, Scopello is my favourite! Just beautiful! Love to you all.

Little Bo peep Over the hills and far away. Lovely pictures you can't half tell you're a geographer ... Landscape, weather and narrow winding country roads. The historical cultural features imprinted centuries ago. It is similar to rural France isn't it? Enjoy!

All still green and lovely Hi Hilary & Roger the pics bring back memories from our trip in 2006. We visited many of the same places ... The scenery is stunning I have the same photos. It was also hot then too. Are you heading to N Ireland as well?
All the best, Jane
Travel envy OK - so that's looks really cool, better than what we've done in the Dolomites. Showed Millie our daughter in Spain and suggested she go there.
With all that tasting, it's amazing you even made it on to the trail. Looks beautiful. Should see the place our daughter booked for us in Verona - Villa Verita! Also wine growing ( vineyards all around the place). looking forward to 'getting on the trail' myself. Happy safe travels Greg & Pat.
