CONGRATULATIONS !!! Mario - my good man! I can't begin to express my envy of you for what you have done. Quarter life crisis or not, the decision you made is spectacular. To be honest, I personally never had any inkling that such beauty and historical wonders existed in Colombia. I've naturally heard about the Incas but you have enlightened me beyond my wildest expectations. I sincerely thank you for sharing all the absolutely fantastic images from your journey. I can fully understand your noted hesitancy regarding leaving too soon buddy.
Good luck with your wonderful adventure. I hope you're able to extend it for as long as possible. Being considerably older than you, Mario, it saddens me that I too hadn't made such a journey in my younger years but, again, I'm truly happy that you're getting to enjoy it.
All My Very Best,
Tom

MD nice tan! MD-
Luv your tan. Lookin' good! I love the blog. It's great to read as an escape from the reality of my hellish job search. Do you really like Brazil better than Colombia? The beaches look amazing! Take care. Happy Holidays!!!!

They're not a cult.... MD-
Why didn't you try it? Ayahuasca has been used throughout the Amazon for thousands of years. It is a sacred plant which both indigenous and westerns use for healing. The tribe that you met is not part of a cult, probably the Santo Daime Church which is popular throughout Brazil (even the jungle).

Your Budgie Smugglers Yeah right Mario!! Don't even try to justify wearing those nasty Budgie Smugglers... you had some similar excuse in Turkey for the green ones ... Just admit it - ya love them.. hahahaha!!
Sorry that you did not enjoy the bullfight. Sounds like they did not have very good bullfighters. Usually it is just the single blow between the shoulders that kills the bull and done by a professional it kills the bull nearly instantly. It's only when they aren't very good that the bull suffers more. The fights that I've seen have been relatively bloodless when done well. Still have to feel bad for the bull though. But I guess in a way it can be seen as a little more honorable than to be shot through the head with a bolt-gun like they do in the slaughterhouses.
Heyy I am Irish not American Well I can be close sometimes..LOL Change that shit :) How are you Mario looking forward to hearing more about your adventures.
Take care

Colombia Dear Mario, you have great stories and pictures, and visited many places in this beautiful country, but still misspell its name: it is COLOMBIA, with "O", not Columbia (which is a US state). Thanx!
You mean to say.... ...you didn´t have a nice big slice of pig head.. it looks so appetising!! See you sometime in some other country (yours!) ...Nikki (Bogota/ Cuzco/ NOT Salento) x x
the german guy Hey Mate!
I´m happy, that you didn´t delete my name from your Mailinglist... otherwise you could have read my name in it ;D
Nevermind... so nice to see you travelling around, meeting all these funny people and having fun.
My last weeks in Chile were great too. In Pucon I did the villarica-Trek too (with lots of medicin and tapes for my knee).
First thing I saw in german tv was a report about "torres del paine" and for that I´m quiet sure. I´ll make it someday!
Enjoy yourself and collect all the experiences you´ll find on your way.
And if you still have it: Please send me our picture from the start of the torres trek. Thanx.
"V O L K E R" ... not a single "oink!" out of my mouth!
26 yo guy from australia who got crazy one day...had a quarter life crisis, packed his bags, left everything behind and went for a stroll in south america.
if u come across him...please forward to closest underwater basket weaving centre for analysis and therapy!
ok...i am never going back home...can someone come and rescue me!! but please don´t come any time soon!... full info
