Hi all, after a fiasco at the Como train station this morning with the tickets, we were sold tickets for the train that was leaving as I was paying for them. So, a two hour wait for the next one to come along. Arrived in Locarno at 3pm, mowst 0of the day shot to pieces. Tomorrow we go to Brig, via Domodossola, and return to Locarno via the Gotthard Pass. We have a few hours in Brig, long enough to look around and do lunch at the Hotel Du-Pont. More news tomorrow. Byee. [View Full Entry]

Hello there, I wrote a lengthy entry yesterday and the internet at the hostel crashed so nothing went up on site. Major bummer!! Anyhoo, today we are in Como, north of Milan. Got up super early and caught the first bus out of Bassia, made it to the train with 20 minutes to spare, arrived here in Como after lunch. Two train changes which was a "stress to the max," found one of the platforms by sheer luck, barely made it onto the train! We've had a wander around Como, found a market, went for a boat ride on the lake. [View Full Entry]

Hello from Bassia in Cinque Terra. There are five villages in the region, this is Riomaggiore and Manarola. It is an extensive wine growing region, tried some with tea last night. We caught the train from there to Manorola, a four minute trip. Today we will do the walk, the Via di Amore, and visit the other villages along the coast. We plan to go snorkelling and kayaking as well today. Staying in the hostel in the village of Biassa, a 10 minute bus ride from the coast. The church bells are very loud and frequent! Hello all, here's some pics from Pisa. We didn't climb the tower, asking price was E15 and no lift! Right now we are in La Spezia, in an hour we catch the local bus to Biassa and find our next B&B. Here we are, still in Rome and the heat is blistering. 33 today, how much more can a koala bare? Today went to the Vatican Museum, which houses the Sistine Chapel. Thought we'd beat the crowds and go early, not, still packed solid at 8.30am. On with the show. Tomorrow we will look at going to the ancient Rome Harbour Osteo Antico.
