Fabulous Hi Alexis - How truly fantastic you must be 'over the moon' with your achievement - I remember the terrible feeling of altitude sickness when we visited Colca Canyon to see the Condors - no way near the height you have encountered so you have done extremely well to get nearly the whole way without feeling unwell. Loved all your photos and oh my what a super memory you have made. Best wishes Sheila
Thanks!!! Thanks so much everyone for the compliments and congrats. It does feel great and is one of my favorite adventure ever. I actually think I would totally do it again, maybe another route with more time... Or maybe the Annapurna circuit. Too many choices!
Congratulations!!! Altitude sickness can be a killer at any age. It took us a couple of months to adapt to the altitude where we now live in the Rocky Mountains...8400 ft.
Follow that Road Maybe not a road but a track...but what a load and what a track!!! I am posting this in 'Follow that Road' in the Photography Forum as it is too good to not remember its journey to somewhere. Check 'em out.
Cambodia! Always wonderful to read your blogs and see the world through your eyes. Cheers to you and when we meet again for some fun, perhaps Hawaii ; ) Love you!
Dubai Expo This sounds like a great event. Maybe I'll make it to one someday. I imagine is screws up your head by making you want to get on the next plane and fly somewhere!
Volcan de Fuego Makes my body squirm seeing your pics...the squirm I get when saying "I wish" really deep down...biting my lip gently in anticipation. Volcanoes can do that. What a fabulous experience you had. I'll some of your pics in "Majestic Mountains " thread in the Photography Forum. Check 'em out.
I was an engineer on a long term assignment, first in Dubai and then in Qatar. During this time, I took advantage of my nice paycheck and proximity to other places to start seeing the world. After three years, I decided to take a much earned break and traveled for a year. After working about two years in New York State, I am on my way back to Dubai.... full info
