The joys of Switzerland Zurich is a great place to meet up with your sister. Switzerland has so much to offer. We knew Switzerland was going to be expensive but it is really expensive.
We love the Lauterbrunnen Valley... When we lived in Stuttgart, we took many long weekend trips there. We stayed at the Steckelberg Inn (and Restaurant) at the end of the road. We would take the gondola to Gimmelwald and hike down. We would also take the cog railway from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen and the cable car to Mannlichen and hike to Kleine Scheidigg and then down to Wengen. We also skied Kleine Scheidigg in the winter...a great 8 km run down to Wengen. Thanks for the memories!
Wonderfull horse tour with Pegas Adventure I didn’t know what to really expect from this experience, good thing Tilek was very helpful right from the beginning. He was very flexible with my requests and even helped us book our guesthouses, which was so unnecessary for him to do.
Our guide, Temirlan, was also great! He was patiently guiding us and even though he is young, he is reliable (take it from his 11 years of experience in horse riding). The yurt camps were also amazing, you get to experience Nomadic life (their way of living and their food). The families who own the yurts, including Tilek’s, were so friendly and accommodating.
Their is no better way to experience Kyrgyzstan than taking a taste of their Nomadic Life. And this tour that Pegas Adventure offers is just soooo perfect.
They were also nice to grant my request to ride the horse on our last day though it was freezing cold. I got to tend a herd of 800 sheep and then galloped all the way back to the yurt. It was sooo fun and made my trip in Kyrgyzstan the best so far!!
Ikalto Monastery Gotta love those Georgian monasteries. I've posted some of your pics in TB's "Cathedrals, grand churches, mosques & places of public worship" thread in the Photography Forum. Check 'em out.
Thanks!!! Thanks Genni! And thanks for still reading. If I do it soon after my trip, the things I want to say are still fresh in my mind. I need to update a few more and will try to wrap them up this weekend. :D
Great post! It looks like you really had a great time at the wedding and in Cebu City as well. Thanks for all the good comments about Cebu and everything you said on this post!
Bugs out! TB bumps have been resolved. So happy to read your blog as we are going to NYC in March to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We are always reading and looking for new ideas when exploring a great city like NYC! Rockettes, the Plaza... ice skating, pizza, high tea, the joys of the holidays in the City. Thanks for sharing.
The Hague Our daughter has just returned from working in the International Criminal Courts in the Hague and lived in both Amsterdam and Leiden while she was over there. She says Leiden is called 'the jewel of The Netherlands' so its a shame you missed going there. She knows the small part of The Hague known as Leischendam very well as her Tribunal was there. Interesting how transport often dictates where one actually visit in our travels!
Leiden I actually did get to visit Leiden when I first arrived as my friends live there. I can definitely see how it is called the "jewel" of the Netherlands. Best part of my visit! Your daughter is lucky to have lived there - I think it is an amazing country to live in.
I was an engineer on a long term assignment, first in Dubai and then in Qatar. During this time, I took advantage of my nice paycheck and proximity to other places to start seeing the world. After three years, I decided to take a much earned break and traveled for a year. After working about two years in New York State, I am on my way back to Dubai.... full info
