chirimoya thanks for the info!!! yeah, it´s really different, but good. Ill have to check out that place! ill do a little comparison in the next blog, great idea! cheers!
happy chirimoya hi there, great blog. i just wanted to tell you that "chirimoya" is called custard apple in english. the best ice cream flavor, if you get a chance, is chirimoya alegre (happy chirimoya) which is chirimoya and orange ice cream. the best! also, there's a great bar in providencia, just a few meters away from the Montt subway station (line 1) where you can get great fruit and wine pitchers, including chirimoya, peaches, and strawberries. it's very chilean.
also, i see you've been to ecuador. it would be interesting to hear how chile compares to ecuador. how are the two similar and how are they different. you must've seen enough so far to start forming an opinion. anyway, i hope you enjoy your week in chile. cheers!
Home Coming Hey! I finally slogged through all your blogs :-). I got several impressions from reading all this. First, it seems from your stories and pictures that you are having a great time. It is nice that you are there with friends you know at the same time to enjoy finding and making new friends. Second, I am amazed at how wonderful it seems there. Are the people there as happy as the pictures seem to indicate? Is all the scenery that beautiful? If so, I am sure you are enjoying yourself tremendously. And third, it is an extraordinary opportunity you have to share your knowledge and your abilities with others. I look forward to hearing first hand your experiences.
I made it home safely Saturday evening to a very warm homecoming: no one knew who I was of course. :-) I look forward to more blogs this week, and wish you fun, safe travels, and good adventures. Love ya!
Laura,
I just caught up with your travel and teaching experiences! It sounds like you are having a blast and hanging out with some really awesome people. Keep on teaching, remember - you have to get all that stuff you buy into your luggage, and stay well. See you back in the states!
There's my Shopper! I am glad you are feeling better today and able to go to the market. It sounds like you are are having a great time and enjoying being with the children. I'll have to see you salsa when you get home! Be sure you bring that "hooker upper" next time. haha.
Love you, Grandma
Hi hon! I'm sorry, gotta be the mom, I thought you weren't supposed to eat salad-washed in water and all...Who is Allison? what's wrong with her?
Do you mean you had 46 students and 2 teachers? Are the kids all ages or just ones that need to take the test in August? Sounds challenging!!!HFBS

Great Memories piling up! Hi Laura: We've enjoyed so much reading your daily logs, seeing all the beautiful pictures, and rejoicing in the fantastic experience that you are having. Two weeks like this will never be forgotten, and who knows what impact it will have on your life! The lost baggage, the teammates, the kids, the market, the hostel, the salsa, a beautiful new part of the world...everything!...and you're still in your first days! Can't wait to hear about everything when you get home. Reckon David is managing OK at home without you??? We'll continue to keep up and remember you daily with our love. Bill C.
Great pics Wow, what great pics! The colors are awesome. Good luck and hope they find your luggage, but with those prices, you could buy yourself a whole new wardrobe.
