How fantastic is Istanbul? Hi Katie
I love this blog on Istanbul - we were there in June 2012 and fell in love with the place. Congratulations on Blogger of the Week too.
Cheers
Ren
Passing on As a fellow teacher I can remember the skills of getting round the week idea instead of the term time calendar - good luck. I will show your blog to one of our Swedish friends who no doubt will be thrilled that someone is enjoying her country so much.
Life is full of opportunities Katie, it is wonderful to see you blogging again! We are big fans of yours as you know and it has been a long time. Your blogs were very useful to us in Iceland and gave us a real glimpse of what to expect in Cuba. We are so excited to learn about life in Sweden. Please keep those blogs coming. Good luck in learning Swedish!
Glad to be back! It is wonderful to be back in action! I'll keep the information on my experiences here coming!!
When are you heading to Cuba? You're going to love it!
Thanks, Katie! Hi Katie,
Thank you for the wonderful blog post. I loved reading about your adventure.
Let me know when you travel to Boulder :-)
and check out this website - duolingo.com (lots of language fun). Hugs, Nancy
You almost have 50! It won't be long now until you have visited all 50. This sounds like a great trip....and what a way to wake up. I'm glad the buffalo was friendly and only hungry. I finished all 50 last year (finally made it to Vermont). Enjoy the camping. Can't wait to read more. Happy travels.
Love your blog! Hi Katie! I just came across TravelBlog and found your blog! I am thinking of going to Turkey with a friend. I was wondering how safe and comfortable you felt traveling as a woman in Turkey? I feel like it would be fine but I'm just curious! Thanks for your blog and I love looking at all the photos! That architecture is stunning (mostly why I want to go there! haha).
Happy Travels!
Sarah
Hi Sarah! Thank you for reading my blog! I am really excited for you to go to Istanbul! My friend and I had a really nice comfortable time. The only time we were heckled was when we were in the tourist areas- and then it was just a lot of "hello princess" "oh my angel" sort of stuff. Not fun, but usually ignoring or a "no" in Turkish did the job.
We only had 9 days, so we stayed in Istanbul. I hear that western Turkey you should feel very safe traveling as two women. That is not what I hear about eastern Turkey though so if you want to go there, I would suggest hooking up with a tour.
Safe travels, and please let me know if I can make any recommendations for you!!
Can't wait to see where you go next .... This blog post made me want to check the next flight to Istanbul. What a great tour that you had and wonderful time. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see where you go next ...
Yes! Katie -- as we are just an hour from leaving for the airport for Costa Rica, it was a delight to read your comments and see your photos. Thanks for sharing! You are a great writer. I think we are going to have an exciting adventure.
Felicitación Jane y Katie, me da gusto saber que disfrutaron al máximo su estancia en Cuernavaca, ojala y regresen y podamos vernos..... muy buena la información y fotos.
Les mando un fuerte abrazo
