Sawadee ka!!! Sorry for how late this blog entry is but the internet here at the CCS house was down all last week and when we went away this past weekend they didn’t have wireless there either. So here is everything we/I did 10/6-10/12. Enjoy! Monday 10/6 Today was the first day back from my first weekend away here in Thailand and let me tell you it was an early one. Having to be back at work at 8 in the morning after sleeping in all weekend stinks and I am sure you all know what I mean. Ashley didn’t come with Nicole and I to the day care today, instead she went to the English Camps with the other volunteers because Quade (his last name) was sick/hung over from this past weekend. The kids were ... read more

Swadeka!!! (hello in Thai) So a ton as happened since my last blog. The Thai cooking class was fun, we cooked some an interesting dish known as Thai Sticky balls, which are pretty much rice flour balls boiled in water and then added to coconut water. It was very interesting and the texture was sorta like bubble gum, I didn't like it very much but it was definitely an experience. Later that night some of us volunteers went down to the night market, but it was kinda sorta boring and so we just hit up the local bar and had a couple of drinks. Wednesday: So the day care is absolutely amazing. I love it there. Today we went off separately with different teachers. I went with Krue(teacher) Phon(which means rain) to the gym with some ... read more

Hello Everyone!! So its been two days here so far and I'm IN LOVE! with Trang of course. The people working here at CCS are so unbelievable. There is Jack (not his real name but thats what we all call him, the assistant program director) and Keum (pronounced Kim, the program director) and Mamma T (the cook, and sorta like our seregate mother while we are here) and On(I'm not totally sure what she does but she is always around) and a few others who's names I sadly do not know. So on saturday after we landed we got right into it. They had us do a scavenger hunt through town without their help, we were put into teams of three and just sorta thrown into the den of wild lions. My group had to find ... read more

Hello everyone. So I finally arrived in Trang this morning around 10am, about 11 pm your time. It is so unbelievably gorgeous. Every where you look is green, and not green like back home more like..I dunno.. maybe Ireland green. Its great. And there are all these rubber trees everywhere. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow. I am a little scared though just because there are a lot of taboos here especially not being able to take pictures of certian things, so i'm pretty nervous. I arrived in Thailand on Thursday and spent Friday touring around Bangkok with 3 other volunteers that were staying at the same hotel as me. It was a lot of fun. We went on a long boat tour through the canals which are DISGUSTING!! The water has got to ... read more

BRAZIL WAS AMAZING!!! I know I didn't do any blogging when I was in Brazil and I totally regret that. So for now I will upload some pictures to share with everyone. But all I can say is that Brazil was fantastic, the people amazing and my experience was like anything else I've ever experienced before. If any of you get the chance to do the same thing then I say go out there and do it. Volunteering with people in a different country, people who need help, people whom, without us would be in worse circumstances then they are now, is the most wonderful thing in the whole world. For two weeks I worked with children in a pre-school. There were 25, 5 year olds and one teacher. These kids were unbelievable, they are only ... read more

Hello Everyone! So right now I am sitting at home just having said good bye to my friends and am now waiting for my parents to get done doing whatever it is they are doing. In about 30 minutes we shall be heading off to the airport...ahh! I have never traveled to a different country by myself before and I am very anxious/scared! My travel time is almost 24 hours from the time I leave Boston, MA and the time I arrive in Salvador, Brazil at 4:05pm TOMORROW!!! I'm totally freaking out that I might have forgotten to pack something and you know that my suit case is already TOO heavy and packed WAYYYY to much. If I do any shopping in Brazil (which I promise you I will) I am going to have to buy ... read more
