OK, so here's the plan:
Thailand, Cambodia, Italy, China, South Korea, and
Mongolia in approximately five months. Life's too short to not get lost along the way, right? I'll meet up with Danielle (
Dan) and Paula (
Paul) in Thailand and then rough the rest on my own from China forward.
I don't know how often I'll have time to update this, but I will as much as I can - so bear with me. Shoot me a comment or email me, I'm sure I'll love to hear from you. I promise adventure, mishap, and embarrassment...and maybe requests for more $. Let's all hope it doesn't come to that.
Oh, by the way, you can check back when you can, or
subscribe to get an email when I post new entries.
Here are some sample images of my work...
... read moreGreetings. It's been 3 weeks since I last posted an entry. That's a long time for me. You may ask yourself, "Why, Kam? Why would you do that to us?" The simple answer is simply I'm lazy. A sloth? No. But lazy? Yes. Hopping continents has started to take it's toll on me. In any case, there's been some changes to my itinerary, and other stuff that happened in the past few weeks that some of you may find interesting. If you don't find it interesting, well...I don't know what to say. Sorry? Here's the dealio: I'm in Seoul. I've been in Seoul for some time now, after coming back from Gurye. I'll explain all this shortly. I'm planning on coming back to the states sometime in the near future. To be exact, actually, the 2nd
... read moreWell, I haven't really been paying attention to what I've been doing very much. Mostly b/c I've been enjoying it too much to stop and think about it. In any case, I'm going to try my best to recreate the past few days. A brief update: I successfully negotiated some WWOOFing (it took me 2.5 hours of strip poker, a swiss army knife, and a polaroid camera), I found the agency that does birth family reunification (and they told me I didn't have enough information on me to help me @ the time), and roughly figured out when I'm coming back to the States (around May 9). I hope everyone is doing well back home. Today, without less regret, is my last day in Seoul. I thought we would always be together. Some things just have

Nobody stares @ me like I'm sticking out like a sore thumb, even though I do look quite different than most Koreans (dress and face-wise). I've learned that most people think I am at least somewhat Japanese. This is blowing my mind. Seoul is on par, for me at least, with Rome. It's a huge city, but very well connected, clean, and despite there being the most people per square foot in an Asian metropolis, it doesn't feel overly crowded most of the time. Korean, as far as languages go, is a bit difficult for me, but much easier than any of the other languages I've tried (except for Italian...b/c of my Spanish background) b/c it has
... read moreOOOOOK. So even though most of you haven't even read through the entirety of my last entry, which was pretty recently posted, I have decided to post my entry about Xi'an. Now, even though I wanted to spend more time in China than I am going to, I have decided it's better to head to Korea and try to WWOOF than to stay here (as cheap as it may be). So, sadly, this will be my last entry in China, for now. I am going to come back because my return flight to the states is from Beijing. But back to the present. I am currently in Xi'an, which is located in the Western-Central area of China, and soon to leave for Yantai, which is close to the coast (about halfway between Shanghai and Beijing) to

I flew into China on 2/25 and have since been in Beijing, but just recently got to Xi'an, where I have been for 2 days. I plan to post an entry about Xi'an when I am done here. For now, Beijing will have to do. Hope everyone is doing well in the States, and thanks for all the comments and messages from everyone, I appreciate it (probably more than you know). So let's see... Our story picks up with our hero before leaving Italy ---Met 4 very nice Spaniards. One of them, Isabelle spoke English very well and was similarly impressed with my Spanish. I made

We haven't really had good internet access since leaving Naples. I am now back in Rome, where I'll be for the next few days before flying to China, and Dan was also here, but he left today for Barcelona (Espana). Since we last spoke (or you stared @ a computer screen while I paraded around the world) we have since gone to...in chronological order: Sicily (Palermo, Agrigento, Catania) and the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi, Atrani, Ravello). Paul split off in Catania to go to Syracuse and then on to Northern Italy before heading to Spain to meet Dan. Some of it was good, and some of it

Who knows? your time gets all messed up when you're traveling - it almost ceases to exist. Now wer'e getting all philosophical, so I'll move on. Anyway, the last time I write, we were still in Thailand, but heading out in a few days, and were intending to go to Chinese New Year's celebration in Chinatown, but we didn't because we were all feeling very lethargic and lazy, and also because we are so super lame. We are now in Naples, but had a few bumps along the way. We've been here for 2 nights, and before this, we were in Rome for 3 nights. So since I have been feeling

We arrived yesterday afternoon after some brutally long travel, but I’ll get to that later. Since the last blog I posted, we have since disappeared to one of Thailand’s National Marine Parks located west of the Thai-Malaysia border, Tarutao National Marine Park, for about a week and a half (10 days or so). I’m pumped on coffee, loads of green curry, and have a gang of time on my hands (we have two more days here till we fly to Italy). SO…we all know what that entails: a ludicrously extensive blog and a horde of pictures. Boo-yah. Adventures in Hat Yai ---After posting a blog @ an internet café, I returned

It's been a while since I've posted, so this blog may be a blur and completely uninteresting as my memory has started to wane from the past week. Or, it may be mindblowing, nobody knows. I guess you'll know at the end. Ohhh. Suspense. Ko Phangan & The Full Moon Party Well, after taking a separate bus than Dan and Paul from the Cambodia-Thai border, I successfully navigated back to Lily's house in Bangkok. It was a great personal victory for myself and humanity as a whole. I rode the sky train and took the subway (my first time on a subway) until finally ending up somewhere in Thai
