After spending a few days in Swakopmund we started heading north via a ziz-zag route that took us to Karibib, Omaruru,Otjiwarongo, Outjo,Khorixas Kamanjab and Opuwo. Opuwo was our last stop for diesel and it seemed to be a butsling little town. And then soon we were leaving Opuwo behind, making our way along a dusty, but good quality, dirt road. It was hot as we drove on through the afternoon taking in the everchanging landscape as we made our way to Epembe, biting the dust of a truck loaded high with Coca-Cola products. At Epembe we branched off as we headed towards Swatbooisdrift. Fortunately we now had the road to ourselves.
