Kunene River Area Africa » Namibia »  Kaokoland
After spending a few days in Swakopmund we started heading north via a ziz-zag route that took us to Karibib, Omaruru,Otjiwarongo, Outjo,Khorixas Kamanjab and Opuwo. Opuwo was our last stop for diesel and it seemed to be a butsling little town. And then soon we were leaving Opuwo behind, making our way along a dusty, but good quality, dirt road. This was the perfect place to unwind. White-water rafting and fishing is available for those who feel more energetic but I was perfectly happy to just sit and listen to the birds or watch the agamas and squirrels darting about, doing nothing much more energetic than taking a refreshing dip in the pool from time to time. A sundowner cruise on the river was a chance to see it in a different mood and get some sunset photographs.
