Amazing! Just came across your blog, I loved hearing about your adventures in West Africa! My friends and I are headed to Ghana next month, and doing similar whirlwind side trips to Mali and Cote d'Ivoire, so your blog will be very helpful.
johnny, it has been awesome to read your stories from ghana. i am glad you had such a wonderfully rich time and i'm only sad i won't get a tackle hug! i wish you a good homecoming. it's probably not gonna be what you expect, but give it time and the pieces of the puzzle that is your life will come together again. they just might not be in the exact same spot where they used to be.
Frosty's coming home! You are a lucky young man Jonathan. There are students waiting to be in your classroom when you graduate--hundreds of them! Teach the children well--share the world with them.

Welcome Home! Jon, I'm glad you made it back safely from that adventure. I think you'll definately appreciate the US when you get home. Do the tro-tro's ALWAYS break down or have a flat tire?? Love ya'. See you soon.
You look like a pro on that Camel. You 8 part stories are a great relief from all the Final Week stress coming my way. It sounds amazing enjoy what time you have left :)
Wow! The good thing about reading your blogs, is that i know you survived, which is a good thing from your mother's point of view.
you are amazing! we miss you and look forward to seeing you in a few short weeks. love you much!
Lazyness Brother, i fulley understand this 8 entry business. I still have yet to finish my entry of my semana Santa excursions. One more entry i hope, and a picture gallery!! This adventure of yours how ever sounds amazingly epic. I'm excited!
Oh Jonathan your adventures never cease to amaze me and make me laugh :) I'm so glad you're having fun, see everything. also a sidenote we are reading a book in one of my classes about a girl who was from Togo
You were my Art student; Eisenhower Middle School Jonathan, In 1982 I spent a summer in Burkino Faso and Cote D'Ivoire. My parents worked at a hospital at Djibo, Burkino Faso for almost 2 years. It was one of the more profound experiences of my adult life! The country of Burkino Faso was then called Upper Volta. The disruption of the overthrown gov. began while my parents were there.
Oh how I envy you! Your mother told me about your adventure and gave me your blog address. I will look forward to reading your updates. I am enjoying your writing style!
Your description of bumpy roads, broken down vehicles, waiting . . . and waiting, heat, coping with french and a culture foreign to me bring back memories.
We made 3 trips to Abijan the summer I spent in Burkino Faso. I remember being excited about modern accomodations and water I could drink from the tap. I must get out my old slides.
Enjoy, learn . . . be careful.

"Stay Frosty" Jonathan--please do me a favor and sign your next blog with something other than "Stay Frosty Gang." We've had enough winter here--wind, rain, snow, cold--all today! 4/5/09 Thank you! I'm very ready for spring. I'd like to garden a bit in my retirement and sit on my deck reading a book watching nature in my backyard in my shorts! You are such a good writer Jonathan. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us. Bless you. Remember, NO more "Frosty!"

The world is a book and those who do not travel read only the first page. That being said, you can bet I’m going to savor my first overseas experience for all it’s worth; as I study abroad at the University of Ghana. After all, adventure is the pursuit of life, so let the chase begin!... full info
