I recently graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. My concentration was Western European History with an emphasis on 14-17th Century (Renaissance) History.

I was accepted into a teaching program and will be working in Florence, Italy teaching English as a foreign language to students. I am also planning on being a walking tour city guide in Florence as another job. I studied abroad for my whole Sophomore year of college in Florence, Italy which ignited my passion for Renaissance history and my love for Florence and Italy in general.I can't wait to put what I've learned through my major into practice by being a tour guide! :D

I will be taking my training course in Manuel Antonio, (Quepos) Costa Rica this coming November and then hopefully taking off to Italy in January.

So I woke up pretty early today, went outside for a little bit and then came back in and fell asleep for a little longer. It was supposed to be stormy today, but it was pretty sunny out in the morning. We went over to the hotel restaurant again (arroz con pollo again… delicious!!!) and had lunch and relaxed. There were the small monkeys all around the area (including outside our room) and we went and hung out with them for a little bit :) They were eating coconut from people and they were SOOOOO cute! I want one!We went out to walk on the beach again and spent a lot of time down there because hey, why not! We were heading back but decided to go look for some jewelry at the vendors shops. Then ... read more

IN MANUEL ANTONIO!!!! It took a ridiculously long shuttle ride to get here, but we made it and it is beautiful! We woke up at about 6am and the shuttle was supposed to pick us up at 7am, but it was late. By the time it had driven around to pick everyone up we were an hour behind. Then when we finally got on the road, we had been driving for only an hour and a lady realized that she was on the wrong bus. We were going to the Pacific side and she was supposed to be going to the Caribbean side. So, after much arguing and delay, we drove back about 10 minutes and dropped her off at a little restaurant for another shuttle to pick her up. Once we got to Manuel Antonio ... read more

We made it to Costa Rica! Interesting flights and process getting here, but it all worked out! After we got through customs there was a lady standing there with my name on a board! We got our stuff and had a shuttle to take us to our hostel. We actually ended up going to a different hostel that the driver said was more age friendly and since it was the same network we didn't have to pay anything different. We got a room on the first floor with a big bed, a fan, and a bathroom. The hostel is pretty cool and the walls are all painted in murals. There is a really nice pool and a restaurant and bar upstairs and a few lounging areas. After sitting for a little bit and changing our bus ... read more

Hi! It was suggested by a family friend that I create a blog for traveling. This way, people are able to see where I'm going/ where I've been and can see pictures and get updates and it isn't SUPER time consuming for me to update people one by one. Of course, if you email me (jessicasegur@hotmail.com) I will gladly email you back, but this is for general updates and pictures! If you don't already know, I was accepted into a teaching program and will be working in Florence, Italy teaching English as a foreign language to students. I am also planning on being a walking tour city guide in Florence as another job, most likely among other things. :-) I will be taking my training course in Manuel Antonio, (Quepos) Costa Rica, and then taking off ... read more
