I'm addicted to vacationing! I enjoy time off from work just as much as the next guy. I thoroughly enjoy living life to the fullest and spending all my money on vacation (and Rachel haha).

I've vacationed in 25 states to date (only 25 more to go) but I plan for my next few vacations to be of the adventurous, foreign-type. America just bores me.

Fun Fact: I've also been to 22 of 30 Major League Baseball team stadiums.

What a sad day; it's our last day in Iceland but the good thing is the Golden Circle Tour was on our agenda. This tour is another jam packed, 8 hour day, loaded with fun! Just like the last few days we were picked up at 8:30 and driven to the bus terminal where we transferred to another bus with about 15 people total on the tour. Our first stop today was our only stop yesterday, Þingvellir National Park. But today we stopped at the top of the park on a cliff overlooking the entire park, well as far as you can see at least. The Park is enormous and obviously can't be seen by the naked eye. We were able to see the sites we visited yesterday from a bird's eye view. It was quite ... read more

Naturally with my lack of sleep over the last week my wake up call from Rachel came 15 minutes earlier because Dive.is was picking us up from the hotel between 8-8:30 so we had to be ready. Approximately 8:15 we were picked up by Kevin (from Ireland) and Stephen (from Germany). When they picked us up, a girl by the name of Mikala (also from Germany) was already in the van. We then picked up two more guys who were going to be diving. The one kid Edgar had 16 dives already under his belt, impressive! The ride to Þingvellir National Park was about 45 minutes-1 hour. I'm not quite sure because I was falling asleep, yet again. I forgot to mention the kid Stephen was driving the van and I'm not joking when I tell ... read more

Our days have been starting off way too early. Sure 7:15 isn't early anymore by my standards since I wake up at 5:45 but I mean this is vacation and I can't even catch up on sleep. Today's trip consisted of a full day bus ride to a glacier, Halsanefshellir (black sand beach), Skogasafn museum, Skogafoss waterfall and Seljalandfoss waterfall. This trip was jam packed with cool stuff and it was definitely going to be an all day event. The first stop was the glacier; to get to that point it was just shy of a 2 hour drive. Even without a 2 hour ride I'm glad we decided to take a tour there because we would have NEVER of found this place! Once we turned off the main road there was a bumpy, rocky, rough ... read more

For part two of today's funstivities (yes, I made that up) we went to the world famous Blue Lagoon, home of the Chase credit card commercial! It would seriously awesome. Once we arrived after the 45 minute drive from our hotel we enter the locker rooms and get out our bathing suits and headed over to the shower. Rachel led me to believe that I was going to have to shower naked before enter the Blue Lagoon, along with everyone else entering, in a community shower. Thankfully that had stalled showers, a couple of which had doors. That just would have been uncomfortable for reasons I don't need to mention on here. Anyway, the temperature outside was probably 50-55 today and we just had to shower plus the addition of 20 MPH wind gusts... yeah it ... read more

Everyone get the Titanic reference? Good. Part 1 of today's adventure was whale watching, yay. The tour was to start at 9AM so we had another early morning getting up at 7:15 and eating some breakfast. I had some cheerios, granola, bread, orange juice and more cheerios with some apples on the side. After breakfast we went back to the room to make sure we were properly dressed for this whaling occasion. Whether you are a pirate, a viking or a crew member of The Deadliest Catch most of us have been on a commercial sized boat and know that the high seas can be a bit brisk. My getup for the day was tights, my snowboarding socks, pants, hiking boots, under armor, t-shirt and my snowboard jacket. In addition I wore gloves, a scarf and ... read more

Man my arms are tired after flying all night (cue clapping sound affects). If you hadn't already read Rachel's blog then you don't know that we arrived in Reykjavik around 9:40 AM (5:40 AM back home). Our flight had some minor turbulence and two major pain in the asses but overall a decent flight. Let me start off by saying I usually fall asleep on a plane with ease. Ten minutes into any flight you can usually find me face-planted on the seat tray in front of me, as dirty as that may be. Well... WELL NOT THIS FLIGHT! The lady in front of me reclined maximum reclinage! I'm sorry but reclining on a plane should be outlawed. It's common courtesy that if someone is sitting behind you, you are absolutely NOT entitled to recline! Anyway, ... read more

The last time I was traveling internationally it was to Aruba. For various reasons (Nicole had to catch a flight the same day with my Uncle driving both of us) we made it with minimal time to spare at security so tonight we made sure we were extra early. Rachel and I stayed at my Grandparents house for the day since they live about 10 minutes from JFK airport and as usual my awesome Uncle gave us a ride (we will be rewarding you handsomely upon our arrival, sir). We figured leaving at 8:30 for an 11:35 flight would be perfect. Well it was, but not without terminal 3 (our terminal) already being closed for the night. That caused just a slight, 10 minute delay. Luckily we just had to loop around once and we were ... read more

It's 12:30 on Friday morning and I'm FINALLY done packing (or so I think). Right now my suitcase is clocking in at a whopping 43.6 pounds which is ridiculously high for me. If I were going to the Caribbean on Saturday instead of Iceland I'd have a pair of shorts, two shirts and a bathing suit. The thing about Iceland is the weather is tricky. I have to pack for rain, cold weather and semi-warm weather (60 degrees is shorts weather for me). I'm really excited for this trip and in less than 48 hours I will be on a plane to Iceland. People are always asking me at work, "who goes to Iceland" and the answer to that is me (and Rachel). I don't know anyone else who has been to Iceland which is what's ... read more
