Our last day in Barcelona. We woke up late, again. LOL After getting ourselves out the door, we walked to the King's Palace but it didn't really looked like anyone has lived in it for awhile. We then hopped on the metro and headed for Barceloneta. This is a town located by the sea. We saw a lot of activity for the Barcelona World Race. We later found out on the news that fourteen of the world's fastest sailing yachts started a three month journey around the world from Barceloneta today. Each yacht is manned by only two crew. We ate lunch (see pics of arroz negro, chiparones and garlic prawns) and then took a stroll on the boardwalk at Port Olimpic. We saw some innovative sand sculptures. We then headed back to the hotel to ... read more

We finally woke up to the alarm and did not shut it off and go back to sleep. We arrived at the Sagrada Familia at 9:00 a.m. We picked up our audioguides and headed inside for the audio tour. No one knows what that facade will look like because Gaudi did not leave plans for that facade. After the tour, we boarded the "Blue" line of the Barcelona Bus Turistic, a double deck bus with the top deck open. We took the bus to ... read more

Hello all. Today we wanted to do many things however I turned off the alarm, rolled over and went back to sleep. Alas it was after ten when we woke up. We rushed off in hopes to see the Picasso museum but when we arrived, the line was three hours long. Plan B, Gaudi! We decided to then visit the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. We stopped in Santa Maria del Mar Cathedral along the way. It was very beautiful. We took a different subway line to get to the Sagrada Familia. The Sagrada Familia was incredible from the outside. It looks like it melts. Margaret and I had a picnic lunch while looking at the cathedral. After lunch we decided to go inside but again the line was extremely long. We decided to come back at a ... read more
