you look great! Nat, I loooove the pictures! The place looks like in some fictional world. It's worth the trouble of going that far. And you look great too! Love you. Besos, Mom.
Alright, this sounds more like you. I have been waiting for the blog where you meet people!! You are very amorosa, that is why you meet friends wherever you go!
Somehow I missed that you now have a blog and therefore I am just witnessing it for the first time!! I am enjoying reading thru your travel stories and I wish I was there with you!!!!!!!!!
Next New Year - try New Jersey except for no shaman blessings, no blue lake, no dancing around the fire pit and no brazilian drunks our New Year's celebration was almost as exciting. And we could even hear the soothing sounds of New Jersey Turnpike in the distance!
Wish you had pictures Sounds like you had an exciting New Year's Eve celebration. Thanks for transmitting the blessing of good health to us. We can use love and prosperity too, but oh well... I wish you had pictures of the lake and the island :-( Maybe someone from your group can share?
Finally! Nat, it's a great way to end my workday - get notified that there is a new entry in your journal. We haven't had any this year yet... Happy New Year!
BRAGGER i think yous gots the best spanish around. well better than me anyway but my spirits were lifted while i was in the touristy south. tourists from all over, speaking all the different types of spanish -from Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Spain, Colombia etc- and I could understand ever single thing they were saying. talking back well that comes next!
it is REALLY fricking hot here and i have cow tongue! miss you but i can not read another word -time is money you know.

bus ride that's quite the bus ride! hopefully the other ones don't have as many roaches or tractors blocking the road (though at least the latter makes for a great story).
Bad Bus What a trip! Glad this bus ride is over. May be you should consider walking the rest of the trip? But then again - we want to hear more funny (for us, not necessarily for people on the bus) stories. Can't wait for the next dispatch. Keep writing!
To laugh or to cry? Well, Natalie, you are spoiling us - three stories in one day! Very diverse stories, no doubt. Only knowing that you got to your destination safely, I could read it laughing. Thanks for the great sense of humor in your portrayal of various characters and events. I am sure humor was the only thing that would help you survive such a trip.
Lovely story This story is so sweet. They are very nice and generous people and I am glad that the Christmas Eve turned out to be so special for you. These are the kind of things that will stay in your memory forever.
Lost Utopia The words “Lost Utopia” come to mind reading your story that’s how the author of an article about Jesuit missions in South America described them (travel section of The New York Times, about a month ago). You had a great advantage of not sharing these sleepy ruins with hordes of tourists. It adds mystery and lets your imagination go wild
Show us the pictures! Loved your description of Paraguay and its people. Can't wait to see your pictures from the beautiful Paraguay, especially men peeing next to the No Orinar sign. Make sure to buy one of those machetes if you plan to stay there much longer. And please stay away from those cows from the Chaco (who knows where they've been).
