Vinny, I'm offended. I thought you phoned me from LA because you missed me!!!! Hot dog sounds gross, i felt a bit ill just reading about it! Glad to hear you had some winnings from Vegas though! Hope you're enjoying your last few days! Ceri and Will x
re: Hammock No it was actually the view from the dorm, but I can see why you'd think that! Queen was a bit creepy at times: "rule number one, keep smiling!", we broke rule number one
Hammock Damn that hammock brings back some memories. It's weird.
That view from Mantra is from the toilets isn't it? Haha.
That Queen guy is a goon.
Fiji time. No Fiji time.
Aloha Guess you are in Hawaii by now and hopefully you have indeed escaped the tourism of Waikiki and headed north to see the big surf and the more local places. Your trip to Figi just looked amazing!!! What a glorious time you have had there, heaven by the looks! Hope you have a great time in Hawaii and I'll e-mail you re LA soon. Thanks for bothering to e me from Figi, that was great. Thought you'd be heading to Vegas, what a contrast to Manta Ray Bay!!!! Much love, Linda
Rather you than me! Like I say Gav, rather you than me with the bungee jumping! I take my hat off to you I would struggle to drop like a stone for 0.8 seconds let alone 8.0 seconds.
The trip continues to look great and your blog is a real treat to read - very descriptive and informative - almost as if we're there with you.
Keep on soaking everything up and taking every opportunity to experience new things - love from all in Hurstpierpoint. Rob
Shizzle Do quad biking in Franz!! And check out 2-4-1 indoor ice climbing if it is still on. Think we did the superman zipwire thingy near greymouth. You're getting around NZ alot quiker than we did and if you think christchurch is cold wait till you get to queenstown. Gave in and had to buy a 2nd jumper and gloves there. Take care dude. Think i've been rogered - someone just brought another pair of sunglasses on my card before I had a chance to empty it. Balls. I aint getting home on the money I have atm. Haha, classic Rob.
re: I love these places No I didn't spot any nude beach while I was there! Did you? Was really pleased to see the whales, especially without having to spend money on a tour. Both Byron and Surfers were great, wish I could have spent a bit more time there now!
I love these places I had a good time in Surfers Paradise and Bryon Bay. July to October is the best time to see some whales in Byron. Did you find the nude beach there?
Alright Will! Hi Will, thanks for your message, just back from Fraser Island and it was brilliant, best bit of the trip so far. Weather was amazing until the last day when we hit Lake Mckenzie, swimming in the lake was warmer than standing out in the rain! 5 hours sleep before the bus to Noosa now, don't even want to guess how long I've spent on buses in the last two weeks. Cheers for reading and hope the weather perks up back in Wymondham!
Aah, the beautiful goon! Hey Gavin, it's Will here of Fairland Church sunday school fame! Reading about your adventures in the Whitsundays brings all the memories flooding back. Sounds like you're having an amazing time, and no doubt it'll get better as Fraser is your next stop. That was definitely one of my highlights - hope you give it a go driving on the beach, and watch out for those pesky dingos! Keep living the dream dude, from a wet and miserable Wymondham!
Re: Sounds Great! Yeah I found that too, it made it a lot easier to see everything, though we didn't venture too far out of the CBD. I'm back in Sydney for a couple of days after the Queensland trip so I might try and see a bit more and take a walk across the harbour bridge, even see if I too can get a flat white served by David Campese!
Sounds Great! Gav, the trip to Whitsunday Isles etc. sounds great, you'll enjoy that. It was great to hear about the tings you have seen in Sydney, it reminds me of my very brief look around there a few years ago. What struck me was thateverything you need to see in Sydnet is basically all in walking distance. It sounds as if you must have walked past David Campese's coffee shop in The Rocks near the harbour. I dropped in there for a coffee (flat white) and he served it to me! There is loads of rugby memorabilia there as well.
I also looked at Sydney's version of Hyde Park but it is very much smaller - like someone's back garden, so you would be excused for missing it.
Happy travelling! Rob
It's beard f-cai. Spelt wrong but you'd expect that.
Never repaid you for our date at the sky tower, I'll keep $15 behind for you. You may have a squid when you change it up.
Take care dude, my arms are fricking destroyed after the surfing and I'm soooo tired. Surfers are so laid back 'cos after 10 mins in the water you're spentand they have to laze around the rest of the day to recover. The waves were picking on me as well, seriously - they opened several cans of whoop-ass on me.
hi So pleased to hear that you got the scholarship and that you can breath a sigh of relief where finances are concerned next year!!! Well done, that is such great news!! Sounds like you had a nice time with Bonnie, lovely that the family connections are spreading down the generations now! Love hearing all your news on this here blog thing and glad to hear you are having fun. Take care and lots of love as always.
Hello Vinny! Hi Vinny!
Sounds like you're doing some cool stuff even if the weather hasn't been good! The place you went where it was really windy, looks a bit like Summer Bay, you haven't met Alf yet have you?!
It's been great to see your photos, Will especially liked the photo of the tiny horse! There are some baby shetland ponies behind our flat at the moment and Will has named them. Dolly (after Dolly Parton, Will says she has pretty hair) and Tina (after Tina Turner, she's jazzy!).
Not much going on with us, Will was off work for a while because he hurt his ankle and I've just been revising for the past few weeks...lame!!
Hope you have more fun when you leave Perth,
Ceri and Will x
Good looking Blog Hi Gav, the blog is fair taking shape and you seem to be getting the hang of the trip. Mooching and seeing what comes. Walking around a city with no time restraints is often the best way to find the things that are most interesting to you, all the things that aren't in the travel brochures.
Sounds like the kayaking should be fun. We're looking forward to the next report. Rob, Liz, Bethand and Fiona
re: g'day Hi Linda, yeah Qantas seem really good about changing plans, its only about $25AD to change the lot. We've pretty much sorted that out now, i'll put the detes in the next blog entry. After some rain the weathers cleared up here now, hope it does there too!
re: Gav's first Blog entry Hi Rob, we had a couple of rainy days but now the weather seems to have brightened up a bit. Cheers for the message, if i can manage to convince Rob to go to the zoo i'll finally get to see some of the australian wildlife and can take some pictures!
g'day So much fun to be able to read how you are getting on! Glad it's going well and that you are able to change and move plans as you need. That's what travelling should be all about after all. Don't listen to Rob, it's gone cold and rainy again! Thinking of you and sending you love. xx
Gav's first Blog entry Great to hear the first leg of travel went according to plan and you're finding your feet and getting organised. Hopefully the weather in west Oz is as good as it is here in Blighty! You don't hear that said very often do you. Gorgeous April Sunday watching the London Marathon.
Keep us posted and if you can get pictures onto the Blog that will be even better. Bethan and Fiona need pictures of Kangaroos and of course cute Koala's. C U
