The path to my house!
The path to my house!
Just be glad you can't smell it!
Right, I've skipped a few days because I'm sick of trying to catch up with myself. Finally I'm writing an entry without having to look back at email to remember what I've been doing! So basically since the last entry I've been living at a place in Leytonstone, which is north-east London. It's a pretty decent area I think, alot of South African and Polish people live here. I'm sharing a house with 2 Saffies, 2 Poles, 1 kiwi, 1 Norwegian and 1 Aussie... I think that's it, and there is one room that two girls just moved out of so [View Full Entry]

Pierre-Luke from Quebec and a Mexican girl whose name I can't remember in the common room at the hostel.
God, I'm so sick of things being broken round here. I go to get into my room today and my key doesn't work. So I knock and a guy lets me in and all my sheets have been removed. Great thinks I, they think I've been checked out. Go down to talk to the reception and sure enough, they've stuffed up and only booked me in for 3 nights when I booked (and paid) for 4. And they tell me they are already 15 people overbooked and can't do anything about it. Well I kicked up a stink obviously but the [View Full Entry]

I can't really remember what this is, ritual sacrifice victim maybe.
Went to the British Museum today which was awsome. It's amazing to see so many things that are ancient and historical. I stood in front of the Rosetta Stone. What a thing to say. My mates from Brazil have moved on so that was a shame to see them go as they were great guys to hang out with. I met a nice girl from Belarus at the Museum though, I was sitting down having a rest when she came up and asked me to take a photo of her outside the Museum when I was done inside. Of course I [View Full Entry]

As seen from the front, these are 2 big guns from old WW1 & WW2 battleships.
I've been bumming around London and seeing the sights. My feet are blistered and sore from the treks around the city, but it's been good to get around and see a bit. I've been to the Imperial War Museum which was pretty good. Also walked down past all the parliament building and stuff. It's crazy being in such an old place. I met up with Matt and Hayden today, we went and had a quick look through the National Gallery in Trafalgar Sq before joining Mike and Hayley and grabbing a beer at an English pub. It was good to see [View Full Entry]

The boxes where people sleep in a 'pod' room. Mine is bottom right.
Wow talk about an embarrasing moment. It's like 30+ degrees here and massive humidity. So i went to take a shower right, took my towel, but not my wallet. Which contained my swipe card for the 'locks as you exit your room' door. After my shower I realised I had no key for my door and noone was in the room. Had to walk down about 50m of corridoors, down a flight of stairs and to the reception wearing just a towel! Reception was packed, had to push through all these ppl to get a 1 time keycard. Nice. Luckily I [View Full Entry]

After hours of traveling I came up the subway and this was the first thing I saw. London!
I'm in London! It's so huge. I'm so tired or sick or hungry or thirsty or something right now. I guess this is jet lag... It's almost 10pm here but god knows what my body thinks it is. I'm just grumpy and sick of everything being a rip off. It took 2 train rides, about 35mins and £21 to get to the hostel. And it don't look nearly as nice as the pictures. Gar, don't think london is my style. Anyway, must go and get food, or sleep, or drink.... not sure yet. [View Full Entry]

The 'effect' is me pulling out my camera in the humidity of Singapore.
Right, from the beginning. I'm writing this on the 6th of August in a internet cafe in London, so bare with my while I try to write as if I was still at the current date! Mostly I'm going to use emails I've written, so if you think it sounds familiar that may be why. :) The flight here was sooo long. I'm not looking forward to the even longer trek I'll be on soon. We got delayed in Wellington, and then delayed even longer in Auckland due to the fog, our 747 from Singapore had landed at Ohakea!. So we [View Full Entry]
