on saturday morning at a bright and early 5:30 am, broder and i headed to machu picchu. a twenty minute taxi ride and 3.5 hour train ride later, we arrived in aguas calientes, the necessary stopping point before going to machu picchu. we got into town at about 10:30 am, checked into our hotel, and then realized, after literally roaming the entire town, that there is absolutely nothing to do in aguas calientes. we saw a few 8 person parades that were pretty cool, filled with extravagant costumes and loud music and then had lunch by their very own plaza de armas. the rest of the day consisted of hanging out, roaming around, and napping after only having about four hours of sleep the night before. that night we had an orientation with the trip coordinator
