I finally am getting the chance to work directly in the field to prevent violence against women and promote gender equity. I plan on having a great time enjoying the sun, sea, safari and culture of Tanzania to boot! I'll try to my best to document the ups and downs of this two year adventure here.

I first started this blog five years ago when I decided to escape to Thailand after working as a gender and development consultant based in Washington, DC for three years. I figured I could have take a little break from the rat race, have fun and help women in the community at the same time.
