Well, Paris, you beautiful, beautiful city, what a delight you were for us. Since Paris was only the first (and most fleeting) stop on our InterRailing voyage, we weren’t expecting to see very much of it, if any at all. We stayed in a charming little hostel in Montmartre, 5 minutes walk from the Sacré Coeur, which I’d never seen before this trip. We arrived on the 8tharound midday and decided, since we weren’t tired, to head straight out and get the tourist business out of the way. We took the metro to the Louvre and then walked along the Seine to the Eiffel Tower (oh it all sounds so romantic in hindsight!).
