angkor wat today I’m not really sure when this was written (somewhere between 2005 and 2007) but so much of this information is so incorrect now. There are tons of ATM’s everywhere, getting passes without bringing your own photo I would imagine is a hell of a lot quicker than them trying to use your photo. First of all. 1-day pass IS sufficient. Angkor wat is immensely vast, but the oneday pass will show you the most important. You can also get 7-day pass. Most of tomb raider was NOT filmed here, and the tomb raider temple site is so packed with tourists it’s not even fun. Actually, it doesn’t really matter what time during the day, there will be a shitload of tourists no matter what. Everyone goes there at 5AM for the sunrise anyway. Don’t get a guide, follow someone else’s guide (a big group so they don’t notice too easily). Walking into another world is hard to believe because of the vast amounts of tourists. The rest you canread on wiki.
Now, this may sound harsh, and it may even sound like things have changed a lot over the past 7 years or so, but I wouldn’t hesitate going back. Even with all the tourists (you being one of them) it’s absolutely amazing seeing the place. Seeing so many tourists in one place is kind of stunning as well. It’s like going to a ball game. Dollars are still in ready use, and there is tarmac roads and not major potholes anywhere. Go there!
wonderful
Thank you so much for your beautiful display of Egypt. So in your opinion would it be better to schedule your own tour or have the people there schedule it? Also do you have any suggestion on how to do that?

thanks First i'm an inner country tourist guide in tunisia and i read your sweet words about my country and i'd like to thank you
both for this.Tunisia is small but very rich.geography, history, traditions, kitchen and people every think is different so the
visitor can not feel boring.I'd like to tell just somethink is that George lucas has realised he's successful moovies in four
regions in tunisia.Three out of them are very known ( matmata, ong jemal and ksar haddada by tataouine in the south
of tunisia usually). The fourth place is also very important thanks to its very nice landscapes and specially to its canyons.
This is called SIDI BOU HELAL and it is situating 16 kms far from Tozeur by the way to kebili and Douz.I'm from this village and for more information wright me please.
i enjoyed boca evenings I have lived for 8 months in Buenos Aires way back in the 80's. this was the place were we went during weekends with all the students of the international school. It was difficult then, you had to walk with your id and be aware of razzia's. still i miss it, singing, dancing eating and drinking at the long tables inside the bars..
this picture is beautiful. i added one to my blog.
i came upon this site when i searched for an article to accompany my painting of los barrios..
salud!
Pop up to us for a hot chocolate if you get too cold! I've never seen so much snow here! Your pics are beautiful. Sahara looks like she's had a fab holiday. x
Thank you for my trip around Seville. I have thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
I take my hat off to you both travelling with a child so small.
Look forward to having you all home!
You guys sooo need to get yourselves an Ergo baby carrier! Damien went mountain climbing with Elijah on his back a few weeks ago and said he barely noticed the weight at all. Much easier than lugging a pram around!
Hope you have a fantastic holiday : )
Your translation is right. "Museo del Jamon" is the name of those delis which speciallity is ham, cured ham. Cured ham (or 'Jamon Serrano') is probably the most appreciated food by spaniards. As a mediterranean country, our gastronomy is widely based on pork, or lamb but not beef. That's somehow shocking for many brits, americans or australians I've met. Most spaniards abroad I know, when asked "Is there anything you miss of Spain?", they always answer: "el jamon"
sounds arduous hope sahara calms down so you guys actually get some fun on the holiday. i've heard that copious amounts of childrens panadol not only keeps the germs contained, but knocks them out (only kidding).
ha! Oh, the entertainment has started again and I am having backflashes of my morning coffee while reading your blog. Lesley is of course getting the hilarious bits read out to her while she is trying to work!
Cant get over how cute pumpkin looks in Madrid! Goodness! That child is not allowed more stamps on her passport than me. I have some serious planning to do.
Love that you guys are not roughing it this trip, even if it is only cause of Sahara. What a lovely way to turn 30 Kit!
Love ya's and miss you lots. The Corolla is being very loved! :-)

The Real Thing.. Hi there,
I saw this ad in Tunisia and found it again on the internet recently..
Coca cola, otherwise known as 'The Real Thing' ! Look at the bottle, what does it spell? :) JESUS
Its one of those strange things in life that point to God:) Another, is the word "history" , or HisStory, as it were.
I wondered what the origin of the word was, and perhaps was made deliberately with God in mind,
but according to Wikipedia the word has a greek origin, so it must be by chance, what do you think?
God Bless
Markie:)
movie I am living in Kigali now. Hotel Rwanda is the most holi-wood-ized movie about the genocide and is a sore point here since the manager of the hotel has made millions off of his exaggerated story where he makes himself out to be a hero in order to get rich. I recommend shooting dogs or shake hands with the devil for a more honest account of this beautiful country's tragedy.
Home Sweet Home Thanks for the great article on Boston. It is by far the best in this section and, to tell the truth, it made me quite homesick. Your picture of the John Hancock is amazing! Thanks for a great article and pictures. They bring back a lot of memories.
Thanks for sharing the great info We're planning a trip to Angkor Wat in Oct. Your info was helpful, and great photos! We'll get our ID photos ahead of time like you suggest.
HELLO!!! Hi,I'm a 15-year-old girl who lives in Athens and I'd like to tell you a few things about your story[It won't take long]
I've read your story carefully and I'm saying that I'm really surprised!First of all,it's not good friday but Great Friday. You arrived in Athens at Easter's Sunday. What were you waiting for, that it would be an ordinary day and all the shops would be open?Everybody were celebrating and having fun, nobody would like[or care] to open the shops.
Secondly,''greek people'',as you called us,didn't learn english on the olympics.I don't agree at all!And I'll tell you why:I've been learning english for 6 years[I was 8 years old when I started, that happened BEFORE the olympics].As far as I'm conserned, people in my age are able to give exams and take The First Certificate In English[LOWER].You couldn't say that those people who started english when I did don't know english. If you study greek history, you'll find that there are lot's of interesting sights, not only''The Acropolis''in Athens, but also all around Greece.
Finally,I think that your story is good, although you came here at Easter[a really stupid think to do,in my opinion!]You should visit a Greek island in summer and you'll see who different it is.I hope you are having a good time, wherever you are.
Lot's of kisses[Although I don't know you!]
Maria
no problems, nothing fancy though hey Holly,
Certainly no complaints. It was clean, small, and perfectly reasonable. The bathroom left a bit to be desired for - it was clean and all, just a tad old. Room was fine, and TV, aircon worked fine.
If I was going again, I would look for somewhere else. However there's nothing wrong with it.
good luck! email and let us know how you go.
Hotel Causeway, out of ten? Hello, I'm from England, and have been travelling India for two months, I've been having trouble booking a hotel, and have finally managed to book Hotel Causeway in Mumbai, was it any good? as I can't find it on the net..you're review would be appreciated! and I hope I can even get there, with all this taxi mayhem business from Mumbai!!! I'm on my own, so I hope I'll be ok!?
Thanks, Holly.x
