Today the fountain is a meeting spot for people attracted by the areas book shops, repertory cinemas, bars, and cafés. We had a coffee and headed to next stop . 2, Cathédrale de Notre-Dame The supreme masterpiece of Gothic art, Notre-Dame cathedral still evokes Victor Hugo's novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. We stood in awe at the the detailed work on the doorways . We didn’t attempt to walk up the stairway for want of energy we needed for the rest of the day.
