Air NZ You do make a good point there and it has given me a few tips. next time i notice my baggage weight is over i will be wearing several layers of clothing from that bag to reduce the weight.
for me i am flying Air NZ. i was just surfing the web to find out what the weight restrictions where for an around-the-world ticket holder flying with Air NZ. when ur link came up...
thanks for the tips mate.

Hey there, Happened on your site via Google as I was searching for images of waterfalls in canada. I have to say these pictures are absolutely amazing and it looks like a slice of heaven!! I wanna be there!
Fords Hey, you guys sound like your having fun down here, good on ya. On the fords/fjords question; as far as I know fjords are where glaciers have carved huge big valleys out to the sea. The glaciers then melt and the fjords are filled with sea water. What kiwis call 'fords' are just where a road or track crosses through a stream or river. The point where you cross it is the ford.
Hey guys, great to hear that you're having a great time, nice photos, i'm jealous! Hope the sun keeps shining for you, the rainy days must be frustrating. Have fun. - Lisa
Hey guys,
The photos look amazing - I can't really imagine what it must feel like to actually be in those landscapes.
Hope yr icecream levels, and the night-time temperatures, stay high.
Love

Nice one boys. Particularly nice mullet spotting. Pretty tidy effort getting 100+km days in what looks like pretty shitty (cold) weather.
Dunno about them fords but. Last time I looked a Fjord wasn't a bump on the ground...
Anyway, keep on trucking. - Matty
need more mullets Your comments are cracking me up, you'd think that with all the moisture over there, you could't keep it that dry..;-). Good blog, keep it up, get some more mullets. Else I will have to start taking them around here..

Hey guys,
Great to hear from you! Very jealous to hear your tales of physical discomfort, indulgent eating, and crazy bike repairs. You must be in a cool country if the biggest threat to your welfare comes from a bird. Hope your feet aren't too cold (but at least you (probably) won't need part of your toes amputated). Anyhow, I've never posted a comment before, so I think this might be going in the wrong place. Love K. - Kathryn
Crazy Loons! Hey DK (and DV) - sounds like you guys are having an awesome time, and that's some very innovative patching technique there DK - nice!
One of you should stick some of your pictures into Flickr as well, or maybe I'll just jack them off this site and post them there for you :P
Good to hear that you're both rolling and (I think) having a good time. Damn those Keas huh? Bloody nature - whaddya gonna do?
Hopefully hear from you lads soon, and hope you get enough access to keep this blog up to date so we know what's going on over there.
Stay away from the sheep guys - I know you're lonely, but that's no excuse! :P

Daniel, hi it's Elke from Challenge!! I have been reading your journals and I am sad to see you stop but also very excited to hear that you will be travelling thru NZ. My partner is from there and I've been told that it is beautiful so you will have to keep in touch!! Glad to hear that you have made it this far unscathed! (Well nearly!) - Elke McDeed
Kill 'em Dan Go DK, I'll be waiting with baited breath to see where you go from Cooma. I recommend going up mount Koscisuko... you can ride all the way to Rawson's Pass.
Keep up the good work mate. - DV
