I just graduated from UCSD and I'm not quite ready to start grad school or to join the 9-5 working force, so I'm going to move to London for a year to travel around. I don't really have any plans. I'm just taking things as they come and living life in the moment. I hope to go to grad school or med school in a year, so I'm currently working towards that.

Brussels wasn't that great for me...other than the large selection of beer and chocolates. The city is just like any other city and it seemed pretty dirty. The center town square was pretty, but that was about all. The chocolates and waffels were definately the highlight. ... read more

Brugge was the cutest and most adorable town. It is very romantic...kinda cheesy romanitc but still cute. We went on a bike ride around the town and it was really nice. They also had this raspberry beer that was amazing. Not much to say, the pictures pretty much describe themselves. ... read more

Oktoberfest was a huge carnival with beer tents set up all over the place, but in order to get in you have to start drinking by at least 11 AM. For the first two days there, we went to Oktoberfest around 5 PM, thinking we could still get in, but no. Everyone we passed already had that glazed over look in there eyes and there were people passed out all over the streets. Finally on the last day we got there by 11 AM to get in so of course we had to start drinking by 11 AM. Oh and by the way, you order steins by the liter. By three we were done. I seriously have no idea how these Germans can go all day long for three weeks. Oktoberfest is definately a guys dream ... read more

Dublin was wonderful...I definately want to live here one day. The city is very pretty, clean, and easy to get around it. It is also a lot slower paced than London and the people are so much nicer. The Irish accent however, is like a complete different language. When people talked to me, I couldn't even tell if they were speaking English. It took me about two days before I could even understand anyone. Sara and I went down to Dublin University to check out the med campus, and we both loved it. It was great motivation to start studying for the MCAT. ... read more

I cannot put La Tomatina into words. It was the absolute wildest thing I have ever been involved in. Bunol is this extremely small town where about 40,000 people are crammed into for the festival. In the center of town there is a ham atop a wooden pole that is covered in lard. When someone removes the ham, the festival officially begins. Sara and I got there about two hours early so we were in the dead center right by the ham. After about two hours one guy finally got the ham down and then the alley and everyone was soaked by these massive waterhoses. Soon the dumptruck came. I still don't know how this dumptruck made it down this alley that was completely packed, but somehow it managed bringing all the tomatoes with it. Once ... read more

We went down to Valencia for 4 days last week and it was absolutely beautiful. The city is so old and has very traditional buidings but at the same time also has a lot of very new and modern buildings, so it's a very nice balance. We went to the La Tomatina festival while we were here, which I'll post once I get the pictures back. We also went to the big aquarium, hung out at the beach, shopped, and saw some flamingo dancing. It was a great time!... read more

So I finally made it to London and it is amazing! I absolutely love it out here. Everything is so extremely fast pace and everyone's always in a hurry. The city is nice and all the buildings are so old. Sara and I found a cute little 2 bedroom flat in Central London so it is so easy to get everywhere. I got a job as an office assistant at a law firm, which is extremely boring but pays decent. The night life is a lot of fun and we're just living it up right now.... read more
